The men's Paris Fashion Week takes place biannually for the spring/summer and autumn/winter seasons. This year, it was held between the 18th and 24th of June 2024, showing off designer's spring/summer 2025 collections. Fashion Week features a myriad of presentations from top designers and leading luxury brands, including Louis Vuitton, Dior Homme, Loewe, and Issey Miyake.
This year's Men's Fashion Week featured many trends across all the runway shows, including camouflage, floral prints, checks, metallics, double denim, and monochromatic looks.
Creative director Kim Jones created another collection for Dior. Take a look at the entire runway show below.
The collection was a collaboration between Jones and South African artist and potter Hylton Nel. The runway was lined with blown-up versions of Nel's sculptures, and the clothes were covered in his distinctive designs, including dogs, birds, flowers, and trees, in the form of buttons, badges, knits and embroidery. Other pottery-associated motifs abounded - blue and white floral patterns and willow pattern-like prints. According to Wallpaper* magazine, Jones took his inspiration for the colour palette (a lot of blues and pinks) from trips to Nel's two homes in Calitzdorp, South Africa.
Although the collection could be considered formal in that it features traditionally tailored collarless jackets, waistcoats, knitted vests, shorts, and trousers, an element of streetwear and playfulness was included by making the garments loose-fitting and including 90s-style woven bucket-like hats, pockets piped with vibrant colours, light-hearted patterns, T-shirts, jumpers, hoodies, logos and prints, and fun charms dangling from handbags.
