For his wedding on the 3rd July 2021, Ricky came to us for his bespoke wedding suit or, more specifically, a very smart wedding tuxedo. If we might say Ricky, seeing your delight with the suit during your final fitting was an absolute delight for our tailoring team! Here's the suit in much closer detail: up and close with a wedding tuxedo full of class.
Ricky's wedding tuxedo is a three-piece, consisting of a classy double-breasted waistcoat with a low-scooped neckline as it is made with a 6-button front. The low scoop of the neckline is contrasted with the sharp notched angled hemline which curves up slightly towards the side of the garment, showing the different details which have been thought through carefully whilst making this suit.
On top of the waistcoat is Ricky's single-breasted jacket made from a black textured cloth. The interior of the jacket is lined with a satin paisley print, providing a great contrast between the outer and inner textures seen on the garment. The centre front is finished with a nice rounded edge as it curves down to the hem of the jacket, level with the bottom of the sleeves. Details of the jacket include two flapped pockets sitting below the waist point and a welt pocket on the chest, positioned on a slight angle.
The waistcoat sits on top of white evening shirt made with double cuffs and a standard collar to sit over his satin black bow tie. The waistcoat is lined with the same white paisley print as is included in the jacket, whilst the front features details including two welt pockets and the six buttons covered in velvet. The same velvet buttons are seen on the jacket's single-button fastening and its 3-button cuffs which slightly overlap. The velvet is a lovely contrast again due to its softer texture as it is seen against the jacket through the buttons and the matching velvet shawl collar. The jacket's welt pocket is styled with the white paisley print showing out the top for an extra classy detail.
When Ricky brought his wedding shoes into the final fitting, it really just tied this whole suit together absolutely exquisitely. The hem of his trousers are cut to finish at this ankles and to almost just touch the tops of his shoes so as not to cover any of the sparkling detail: the sparkling detail that just shines through on his waistcoat and jacket. His tuxedo trousers are defined through the sharp centre crease and tapered to the ankles, with a contrasting velvet waistband as another detail to maintain the luxury of his wedding tuxedo. There's a great line across the shoulders whilst underneath the collar is a lovely personal touch...the date to remember!
On behalf of the tailoring team Ricky, it was an absolute pleasure to make your wedding tuxedo and we hope you had a fantastic wedding! Congratulations to you and your wife!
