Julien's vibrant and dapper wardrobe was a hit in season one of the hit Netflix show "Emily In Paris"; but roll onto the latest of his attire in season two and the character's style continues to inspire. Played by Samuel Anderson, let's see what Julien's wardrobe had in store for us.
Throughout the series, the selection of shirts Julien wears are very artistic and in the very first episode, he doesn't disappoint. After wearing an all pink three-piece suit in the same episode also, he's also spotted wearing a very dark blue/black long-sleeved buttoned shirt with a classic collar and single cuffs. The print on the shirt consists of light blue, gold yellow and white forming a repeated pattern in a random arrangement, to which it is instantly strengthened through the pairing of his matching light blue trousers. Styled with a black belt with gold buckle, it was safe to say as an audience, we would not be disappointed with his season two style.
Let's move onto discussing one of his many suits worn throughout the season two, first focusing on this retro-style two-piece worn with a blue V-neck (again picking out a certain colour to emphasise its placement within the print). The back of the jacket is made with a double vent, flapped and welt pockets that are perfectly pattern-matched with the floral pattern. The notch lapels are high and standard width which doesn't take any attention away from the design. Let's not forget about another great piece of knitwear too in episode 3, as he wears a colour-blocking zip V-neck knit with half-length sleeves.
We've reached the halfway point of season two and another sharp matching two-piece suit worn by Julien, possibly one of the most sophisticated numbers. The jacket is a one-button fastening with fitted shoulders and a narrow shawl lapel. The trousers are tapered with a subtle break above the ankle, whilst also featuring two flapped pockets and a welt pocket constructed from the delicate blue floral and bird-inspired design. The same design falls on the sleeves, the outer edge of the jacket and right down the sides of the trousers, a suit that is very much a work of art.
Episode 5 was definitely a strong one for his suits as from the blue and white floral number in the day, to a dapper gold and black shimmery dinner suit in the evening. With a one-button fastening as well, the jacket included contrasting black peak lapels and four-button cuffs with black buttons also to strengthen the boldness of the piece. The design is very geometric and is definitely a perfect evening choice as Julien's outfit is complete with a long-sleeved black shirt underneath - the cuffs just showing through the jacket sleeves - and accessorising with a gold collar chain and thin black tie.
One element which is so significant with Julien throughout both seasons of "Emily In Paris" is how he can wear patterns and prints very well, but a suit that is made from a plain cloth is one that works just as well. He's seen wearing a lilac two-piece in episode 7, styled with a lemon crew neck underneath to convey the pastel tones of the outfit. With notch lapels on the jacket and flapped pockets, the jacket sleeves are finished with four-button cuffs and slim trousers with crisp white trainers: a great spring/summer outfit choice.
As is expected with the season finale, you always expect it to end on a cliffhanger or with a bang (which it does); but with episode 10 comes some seriously strong outfits, including Julien's colourful jacket styled with crisp white trousers and a ruffled shirt on location at Versailles. There's a certain 60's vibe to the overall outfit as the jacket is blue, pink and white with smaller sections of brown included. The print is symmetrical with each side of the jacket matching whilst the angled flapped and welt breast pocket are perfectly pattern-matched. The notch lapels are short but help to define the lace ruffle on his shirt with a statement collar brooch. As the matching lace cuffs show through the ends of the jacket sleeves, Julien's confidence is certainly encapsulated in a great outfit!
Keep an eye out for this sophisticated double-breasted grey check blazer with peak lapels in season 2 too!
There's certainly more stylish outfits of Julien's that are worth the watch this season!
