For our #AHandTailoredSuit groom Stephen, we designed a dapper three-piece attire for his wedding in the gorgeous Lake District this year, and on behalf of the tailoring team once more sir, many congratulations to you!
Stephen's suit was a three-piece choice with a contrasting waistcoat, but we begin with the jacket and trousers first. Both mid-blue in colour and constructed from Vitale Barberis Canonico cloth, it would form a one-button jacket with sharp peak lapels that were balanced through the padded shoulders. The button itself was of a metallic emblem style and on the front, a pair of subtle narrow angled flapped pockets with a welt style on the chest. A double vent is cut into the back and on the cuffs, three smaller versions of the front are positioned on the cuffs with a contrasting bottom buttonhole.
Underneath, the waistcoat would be a sharp statement as it was cut from a delicate floral printed white cloth in a double-breasted form, the sharpness of the tall notched hem softly juxtaposed through the smoothness of the wide shawl collar. The back was cut from the same blue VBC cloth as the jacket and slim trousers were made from, whilst the six buttons on the front were of similar style included on the jacket. Both thin double jet pockets were cut on a slight angle on the waistcoat front, sitting nicely over the trouser waistband of which these also included two pockets down the sides. Other smaller details to make this suit quite cool included the contrast binding inside to match the lilac cravat and pocket square, along with the satin white paisley lining and, an extra spectacular Nehru collar jacket for the occasion.
