The 16th June 2022 marked the special occasion of our #AHandTailoredSuit groom Paul's wedding in Wolverhampton with a Black & White theme - many congratulations to you sir! Not only did we have the honour of tailoring his wedding suit, we also custom-made a rather striking evening jacket for the evening celebrations for him, and a smart three-piece suit for his best man, Pierre!
Let's begin with Paul's off-white butterfly brocade wedding attire. It looked ever so sharp on the day, and you can watch of the jacket up close above!
Butterfly brocade is one of our favoured choices for wedding attire, and it was indeed Paul's choice for his suave black tie wedding jacket. The off-white piece featured a sharp contrasting black velvet shawl collar around the front, matching the buttons on his three-button cuffs and the single fastening on the centre. A welt pocket was included on the chest (which Paul accessorised on the day, along with a boutonnière on the lapel) and two angled flapped pockets for a classic style. We think he definitely liked the looks of it during his first fitting in our studio!
Underneath his double vent jacket, Paul sported a smart double-breasted waistcoat with a modern five-button front which creates very sharp lines and, an even sharper look overall. The opening of the waistcoat sat mid-chest with a smooth shawl lapel that was contrasting in satin to the mohair waistcoat cloth. Leaving the bottom button undone - as is a sharp sartorial style tip - created a tall notched hem as the front also incorporated thin double jet pockets. His double cuff shirt was also constructed by us which he accessorised with a tall bow tie in this first look; but in his second suit of the night, he left the collar open for the party celebrations!
For the wedding reception and celebrations, Paul would switch his butterfly brocade for this textured jacquard patterned burgundy jacket. With a little bit of sheen to the look, it also included a double vent on the back and three matching fabric covered buttons on the cuffs. The flapped pockets below the waist sat on more of a straight line and, with a one-button front once more, the subtle notched lapels would be designed to be folded outwards to create this dapper, modern wedding look. A folded white pocket square would sit in his welt pocket to match his shirt as his trousers were a slim cut with a subtle centre crease on the front. Paul and his jacket certainly looked suave on the day!
From the groom Paul's two wedding attires, to the attire of the best man, Pierre!
Pierre's best man attire was also a three-piece number constructed from a plain matte black cloth. On the front of the jacket was a wide contrasting satin shawl collar with a buttonhole embroidered on the one side for extra detailing. With a welt pocket on the front that Pierre would accessorise with a flower on the main day, his flapped pockets were angled and designed with contrasting satin jets also. With a double vent on the back and his trousers slim with centre creases, Pierre's waistcoat was single-breasted and taller than the jacket fastening to ensure it was noticed and it looked sleek. His custom white shirt was also constructed with double cuffs and with a classic collar on the top, it would secure his black satin paisley cravat in place.
They say a picture says a thousand words, and this one really does! Paul and Pierre, it was a pleasure to meet you both and tailor your dapper suits for Paul's wedding! Once again, a massive congratulations to you, and thank you for the images from your wedding and the lovely review too!
