Our #AHandTailoredSuit groom Andy came to us for his wedding attire as he tied the knot to his partner in Portmeirion on the 8th July! From the tailoring team here sir, many congratulations to you both!
For his wedding, Andy opted for a three-piece ensemble which is always great for special occasions such as this. The main cloth of choice was a navy blue plaid check design with hints of golden yellow woven throughout. To enhance the yellow, the notch lapel jacket was lined in a bright yellow satin lining with a matching pocket square in the welt pocket too. It was a very effective way of focusing the yellow as a central detail, whilst also being a lovely way to pick out the summer sun and the colourful surroundings of Portmeirion. With two flapped pockets positioned below the waist, an extra ticket pocket was included with a contrasting grey jet, a clever little link to his waistcoat underneath.
The front of the waistcoat was cut in a lovely soft light grey cloth which we carried round to the waist adjuster on the back. This in itself was a striking detail when placed against the blue check cloth, used for the back of the waistcoat. Single-breasted in style to mirror the jacket and worn over a custom shirt, the waistcoat featured a five-button front with thin double jet pockets slightly angled in the middle. A welt pocket was included on the chest, sitting on a subtle angle also whilst lined in the same yellow as the jacket. The hem would curve softly down to the notched hem, echoing the V-neck neckline of the garment.
The trousers were more of a slate blue in colour as these were designed with waistband belt adjusters, metal hook bar fastening and belt loops for practicality and comfort on the special day. The back pockets were thin double jets with a matching brown horn button (same as the ones featured on the waistcoat) and pockets down the sides. The golden yellow colour in the cloth would be brought together nicely with a special message monogrammed under the collar, one that will make the suit a special momentum to their wedding in Portmeirion.
