This bespoke wedding suit couldn't have been more perfect for our gentlemen here for his early December wedding: velvet, green and purely magical! Opting for a three-piece wedding attire, we felt truly honoured to make talented actor Will's suit for his special day and on behalf of the tailoring team here at A Hand Tailored Suit, we send many congratulations to you! As you can see, the suit is wonderfully grand on Will during the final fitting, but let's delve into what really makes this suit perfectly grand for his winter wedding.
We begin with Will's jacket, which was cut in a dinner jacket style with a single button for the fastening and a single-breasted silhouette. The jacket and waistcoat were both cut in a rich green velvet that's perfectly fitting for the time of year as the subtle rounded shoulders just heighten its grandeur.
With the jacket cuffs arranged in a four-button kissing formation, the front included a classic welt breast pocket and two flapped pockets; but what was so fantastic about the flapped pockets were their contrasting designs to match the exquisite appearance of the shawl collar. A delicate and artistic floral design cut in satin was the main design for these elements, a green shade with a subtle blue/black undertone which, in the light, conveyed the material's natural sheen - and this was made even better through the waistcoat.
The waistcoat on its own is very regal indeed, inspired by the shape and design you would associate with the Georgian or Victorian era or Regency period, especially with this double-breasted cut. In total there are sixteen buttons on the front, arranged in two vertical columns of eight and all matching the fabric seen on the shawl lapel. This really enhances the elegance of the design and the high neckline ensures it is noticed when the jacket is fastened over the top. The smooth texture of the lapel is perfectly balanced with the texture of the velvet as it is also designed with two welt pockets and a subtle curve coming down from the neckline to the hem.
If those details were enough to convey the suit's grand nature, than the choice of lining would definitely the cherry on top. Its striking yellow gold colour working against the green velvet just elevates Will's wedding suit, and during his final fitting, the matching pocket square proved this colour choice to be perfect. Of course his suit needed a great pair of trousers, and Will's were cut in a black cloth with a sharp centre crease and, for the finishing touch, a lovely dark green stripe down the side for his unique pair of tuxedo trousers.
Once more Will, the tailoring team send our congratulations to you for your wedding! You looked absolutely brilliant in your final fitting with us and we can't wait to see you looking exceptional on the big day!
