Morning Wear Inspired Wedding Attire for the Groom & Father - A Hand Tailored Suit

Morning Wear Inspired Wedding Attire for the Groom & Father

Morning wear is another popular dress code for wedding attire; but just as our #AHandTailoredSuit groom Mr. Rashid and his father donned for the occasion, it can be cut with a modern twist indeed.

We begin with the father of the groom's suit, who would wear a three-piece attire with a contrasting waistcoat for the occasion. The jacket and trousers would be cut from a classic navy blue cloth and underneath, the waistcoat would be a subtle statement through its charcoal grey appearance. It was cut with five buttons down the centre (the bottom one unfastened if that was the preference) and the neckline sitting quite high on the chest, mirroring the sharp notched hem at the bottom. The jacket itself was cut with a one-button front and notch lapels, styled with angled flapped pockets and double vent on the back. Along with four-button cuffs, straight-leg trousers and blue satin paisley accessories, it was definitely a classic look for our gentlemen.

For the groom himself, Mr. Rashid also opted for a three-piece attire with a statement waistcoat, but keeping with a slight monochromatic tone to the attire. The jacket and trousers were cut from a plain charcoal grey cloth with a subtle rounded shape to the shoulders, giving that extra height and definition in a classy way. The peak lapels sit quite high and the jacket would be fastened with a one-button front, flapped pockets positioned either side and a welt pocket on the chest to feature its grey satin paisley pocket square. The trousers were tapered to the ankle for that modern finish to this morning wear inspired wedding suit.

Focusing on the waistcoat itself, this was created from a lighter grey cloth that wouldn't lose itself within the suit or the wedding accessories to go with it. The front would be a six-button design (3x3 arrangement) with a straight hemline and lapels that align across the centre of the chest. Just below are two thin double jet pockets, whilst the choice of buttons themselves are black to echo the dark grey shade of the outer suit pieces.

With the suit conveying such class and a timeless appearance, it would be strengthened through further details such as the three-button cuffs, all in grey and the buttonholes embroidered in the same dark grey shade. The shirt cuffs that would show through the ends of the jacket sleeves would create more definition and structure to the suit, as the jacket is lined in a silver satin paisley print with dark grey binding also.
