Wrap Up Warm!

The days are getting longer and soon you won't be commuting to and from work when it's still dark outside; but until then, the cold temperatures are still with us and that means wrapping up warm. Woollen overcoats and warm accessories will most certainly keep you toasty on your commute - the style of choice is completely up to you... of course, comfort is key, but never underestimate the power a coat can bring. When the weather is slightly overcast, Spring can arrive early through brightly coloured overcoats and ones with bold patterns. If you're wearing black and grey for your workwear, let your coat be a definite statement on your first day back in the office!

Is the weather forecast rain for your first day back in the office and on the commute? It's time to fetch out your trusty trench coat. Even if the weather is gorgeous winter sunshine just before you leave, you know how quick the weather can change in a flash. Besides, trench coats are such a sophisticated piece to wear whatever the weather. Pop that collar to keep you warm, but to also show you're ready to take on the day.

Of course, coats are the main garment to wear on your commute to the office before the warmer weather kicks in; but if your favourite coat isn't keeping you warm fully, then an elegant knit underneath will work wonderfully. It's up to you whether you choose to go for a polo neck, crew neck or V-neck, because all three will work spectacularly styled up for your smart office attire.

Suiting

What better to wear on your first day back to the office than a well-tailored, perfectly fitting suit that will ultimately make you feel ready to conquer the day. Suits are empowering, and whether you choose to opt for a two or three-piece style is completely your choice. Style with your favourite blouse or a roll neck underneath, and for your suit to be noticed as soon as you leave your home, leave your coat unfastened. Show you mean business.

Accessorising your business attire will simply elevate it from one outfit to another. Mix and match your belts, accessorise with a neck scarf, wear a matching pocket square and tie to complement your suit, or even style with just a pocket square in the jacket pocket to add an extra level to your monochromatic suit.

Shirting

A formal shirt is necessary for that return to office and it's vital that it fits perfectly. Wearing a shirt that doesn't fit correctly or feel comfortable is not good, so go for a shirt that will fit perfectly and look smart. Whether your shirt preference are the classic colours in a business wardrobe - such as blues, pinks and the classic white shirt - the variety of cloths will ensure there's one perfect for you in a single or double cuff. For the colder weather right now, opt for a twill or oxford weave for extra warmth in a check, stripe or patterned design. In the summer, you can roll up your long sleeve shirts or wear a short sleeved buttoned shirt. Pussybow blouses are a staple ladies' shirt design too as the bow on the neck is the only accessory you may need.

Top tip: it never hurts to have multiples of the same shirt. You wanted to wear your favourite white twill shirt but you've got a coffee stain on it? Not to worry. There's another one ready to be worn!

Separates

Not every office dress code requires a matching two or three piece suit, and this is where the beauty of wearing separates come in. Wear your favourite pair of high-waisted trousers with a contrasting blazer for a bold moment, or simply wear a contrasting pattern on the shirt to what are on the trousers. It's all about that mix and match styling that will still result in some serious statement office outfits. Or if you're wanting to wear a three-piece suit, switch out the matching waistcoat for a contrasting piece.

Key Colours

The key colours within a classic business and working wardrobe are ones that are timeless, ones that will always remain classics and so easy to style in many different outfits. For suits, a classic navy or grey suit is great or for shirts as mentioned, a classic white shirt is perfect to style up your bolder accessories, along with blues and pinks.
