The British Fashion Awards 2022: Best Dressed Men - A Hand Tailored Suit

The British Fashion Awards 2022: Best Dressed Men

The British Fashion Awards took place at The Royal Albert Hall on the 5th of December in collaboration with Diet Coke. It is an annual ceremony that celebrates the fashion industry. A fundraiser for the British Fashion Council Foundation, it focuses on celebrating excellence in fashion and supporting future talent. It has been called "London's answer to New York's Met Gala" and "The Oscars of Fashion". The celebrities were out in force, showing off their style. Here are a few men's looks that caught our eye.

Stormzy

British rapper, singer, and songwriter Stormzy rocked up on the red carpet dressed to impress but bundled up for the chilly December weather. Wearing head-to-toe Burberry, his all-black ensemble featured a cosy turtle neck jumper, boxy black overcoat, leather gloves and a luxurious-looking scarf with contrasting white tassels, a white logo and white blanket stitching around the edges. To balance out the rather square silhouette all of this layering created, he chose slim-fitting straight-legged trousers.

Tan France

Braving the cold weather, fashion designer and television personality Tan France arrived in a bold navy blue shorts outfit! He donned a matching coloured corset top over a white dress shirt left unbuttoned at the collar and a white neckerchief. He put on a pair of sheer knee-high socks and a navy blue overcoat with wide peak lapels for a nod to the frigid temperature. Tan finished the look with black patent ankle boots.

Romeo Beckham

David and Victoria Beckham are known for their style, and their son Romeo is clearly following in their footsteps. Romeo arrived on the red carpet in a light grey double-breasted suit with slim-fitting trousers. The jacket featured a natural shoulder and thin peak lapels. With a patch breast pocket and jetted main pockets, the jacket was a mixture of formal and informal style, echoed in the casual trainers and t-shirt he chose to pair with the traditionally smart double-breasted suit. The outfit was completed with a black cross-body bag, the colour matching his trainers and t-shirt, and accessorised with silver necklaces and earrings.

Joshua Jackson

American actor Joshua Jackson opted for a double-breasted suit, too, slim-fitting, padded shoulders and black it was more traditional than Romeo's look but given a relaxed feel with an unbuttoned shirt collar and no tie. The classic wide peak lapels and straight jetted pockets of the jacket added to its formality, so he still looked stylish and event appropriate despite the casual shirt.

James McAvoy

Renowned Scottish actor James McAvoy went all out for his red carpet look in a traditional tuxedo with a twist. The jacket was classic tuxedo with one-button closure and straight jetted pockets. However, the peaked satin lapels deviated from the conventional shawl lapel, and the jacket's body was made of a beautiful blue jewel-toned velvet. To match his black bowtie, James opted for slim-fitting black trousers and, rounding off the unconventional tuxedo, a white cutaway collar shirt rather than a wingtip collar.
