For our #AHandTailoredSuit groom Prince, we created a custom three-piece suit that was bound to be the statement suit of the wedding, and certainly be one that would get everyone talking! But before we delve into the details of his suit, we would like to wish Prince many congratulations from the whole tailoring team!
The suit itself was a three-piece number with a contrast waistcoat underneath, whilst the main jacket and trousers were cut from a white butterfly brocade cloth. The softness of the cloth itself and the texture conveyed would be beautifully juxtaposed through the sharp details of the wide peak lapels, as well as this striking golden metallic cloth we incorporated into the design. The double vented jacket would be a double-breasted style with six black velvet covered buttons on the front and four smaller ones on the cuffs. Along with those, the velvet detail would outline the lapels and pocket flaps, simply giving it that boldness and strong dapper nature for Prince's wedding suit. Inside was a black satin paisley lining and to bring it together with the waistcoat, were defined sections of the metallic cloth either side for the jacket facing.
When we say the waistcoat can become the statement detail of the suit, we most definitely mean it, and this one was no exception. The style and cut itself would completely differ from the jacket in its single-breasted style, finished with five buttons down the front (the bottom left unfastened) and with a notched hem that would follow on from a subtle curved edge. There were no lapels on the neckline as the highly decorated metallic finish cloth of the garment would bring all the depth and volume. A welt pocket was included on the chest with a black pocket square optional and two further tall jet pockets near the bottom.
The back of the vest was cut from the same white butterfly brocade (as was the back adjuster too) to add a further elegant touch to the suit, blending quite well with the slim trousers that also included black buttons on the back for an extra pop of detail.
