For a wedding in the stunning surroundings of an Italian villa, groom Jake Taylor chose a timeless formal look with a distinctly cinematic influence. Inspired by the sophisticated style of The Godfather Part III, Jake worked with A Hand Tailored Suit in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter to create a completely bespoke two-piece evening suit and dress shirt, designed specifically for his wedding day.

With the wedding taking place in Scilly, Italy, the brief was to create something elegant, traditional and unmistakably personal. The colour palette combined olive dark green, mocha and pink, while the main wedding look focused on the classic sophistication of black evening-wear.

The Bespoke Black Mohair Tuxedo

The centerpiece of Jake's wedding wardrobe was a two-piece black mohair dinner suit, chosen for its sharp appearance and luxurious evening finish.

The jacket was designed in black mohair, featuring a dramatic 4-inch peaked lapel covered in contrasting black velvet. The velvet contrast adds depth and character to the otherwise classic black tuxedo, creating a look that feels both traditional and individual.

Jake chose to have the wedding date “05.09.26” placed above the inside pocket. This discreet piece of embroidery creates a permanent reminder of the day without changing the clean appearance of the tuxedo.

The ivory plain lining, enhanced with pink contrast detailing, continues the wedding's carefully selected colour theme and provides a subtle contrast whenever the jacket is opened.

A defining detail is the 0.50-inch black velvet evening stripe, running down the outside of each trouser leg. The velvet stripe connects directly with the velvet lapels on the jacket, bringing the complete tuxedo together.

Brace buttons were also included, giving Jake the option of wearing traditional evening braces as part of the formal look.

The White Pleated Dress Shirt

The tuxedo was completed with a bespoke white pleated dress shirt, made using a Egyptain Cotton fabric.

The shirt features a semi cut-away collar and a classic pleated front with dress studs, giving it the traditional formal appearance associated with black-tie dressing.
