It was recently the wedding of our #AHandTailoredSuit groom Oliver and his wife Fiona in September, and we had the honour of creating Oliver's vibrant red suit for the special occasion. On behalf of the tailoring team here, many congratulations to the newlyweds! Let's take a closer look at the groom's three-piece number.

Beginning with the jacket, it was a classic single-breasted cut with a two-button front on the centre. The buttons of choice were dark brown horn styles with four smaller versions on the cuffs, these themselves finished with matching pillow box red embroidered buttonholes. An angled welt pocket sat on the chest with two flapped pockets sitting level with the bottom centre button. The peak lapels were of a slight narrow width which aids in enhancing the sharpness of the lapel points, balanced out with the subtle padded shoulders. Inside, the jacket is lined in a red satin paisley that's slightly darker in the background to complement the buttons well, whilst the brightness of the paisley patterns links well to the overall suit colour.
Oliver's trousers were straight-cut with a subtle centre crease and break above the ankle with the hem sitting just on the shoes. Belt loops and belt adjusters were included on the waistband with angled side pockets and thin double jet versions on the back with a button loop. The waistcoat was designed to sit tall above the jacket fastening, longer in the body with matching brown buttons down the centre and thin angled double jet pockets either side. The notched hem was minimum and short to mirror the classic cut, whilst the vibrancy of the red would transform into a modern and sharp sartorial wedding look. The back and the lining were finished in the same red satin paisley as the jacket, a detail that was picked out through the matching pocket squares and bow ties for his groomsmen as Oliver would opt for a black bow tie and pocket square himself - a lovely finishing touch to link the groomsmen's suits on the wedding!
