Bespoke Elegance in the Jewellery Quarter: Megan’s & Jo's Stunning Wedding Suit
When it comes to wedding attire, nothing quite matches the confidence of a perfectly tailored suit. At A Hand Tailored Suit, located in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, we recently had the pleasure of designing a truly unique ensemble for Megan’s upcoming nuptials at the picturesque Manor House at Quorn.
Set for September 14th, 2025, Megan’s & Jo's wedding calls for a look that balances country charm with sophisticated modern tailoring. Here is a look behind the scenes at the design process for her bespoke two-piece suit and shirt.
The Fabric: A Fresh Take on Tradition
The foundation of any great suit is the cloth. For Megan, we selected a beautiful Green and Beige check wool and linen blend.
This choice is inspired for a September wedding; the wool provides structure and a premium feel, while the linen ensures breathability for a 2:00 PM ceremony. To complement the earthy tones of the check, the interior features a Sage Green (208) framed lining with matching Sage piping, creating a seamless connection between the inside and out.
The Jacket: It’s All in the Details
The jacket is a masterclass in personalized tailoring. Designed as a Single Breasted, 2-button (SB2) piece, it features:
- Hand-Stitched Notched Lapels: A 3-inch width for a timeless, flattering silhouette.
- Signature Contrast: Subtle pops of Sage on the lapel and cuff buttonholes tie the color palette together.
- The "Flash" Cuff: A 3-button cuff design that adds a touch of bespoke flair.
- Functional Elegance: Double back vents for movement and classic straight flapped pockets.
The Trousers: Style Meets Comfort
Megan chose a modern approach for her trousers, opting to pair them with white Converse trainers. To suit this relaxed yet chic vibe, the trousers feature:
- Side Adjusters: Replacing belt loops for a cleaner, more streamlined waist.
- The French Bearer: An internal button fastening that keeps the front flat and secure.
- Practicality: Cross pockets for ease of use and a shirt gripper to ensure everything stays tucked in throughout the celebrations at The Manor.
The Perfect Foundation: The Egyptian Cotton Shirt
No suit is complete without the right shirt. Megan’s bespoke shirt is crafted from White Egyptian Cotton from our newest collection.
Understanding that fit is everything, we designed this with a Double Button front to provide extra security and comfort across the chest, paired with a Skinny Collar for a sharp, contemporary look. Two knife pleats in the back ensure maximum range of motion—perfect for those wedding photos!
