"Bones And All" Premieres at Venice Film Festival: The Stylish Red Carpet

As the Venice Film Festival continued over the weekend and film premieres took place, one that delivered in statement and glamour was that of the 2022 film, "Bones & All". Starring some famous names such as Timothée Chalamet, Taylor Russell and Mark Rylance in this upcoming romantic drama, cast members took to the red carpet on the 2nd September 2022 for the third day of the festival for its premiere. Let's take a look at some of those in attendance and who wore what.

Actor Timothée Chalamet is one of the main characters in the film, as he took to the red carpet in an halterneck red top and matching trousers from Haider Ackermann. The look was definitely a statement as the halterneck includes what looks to be a tie that's half done draping down the centre and a low-cut back. The top is tucked into the deep red shimmery trousers which are a slim cut and are finished with a sharp centre crease, capturing the statement this look delivers.

Starring alongside Chalamet is actress Taylor Russel who also brought a statement to the red carpet in a green gown inspired by a vintage Balenciaga piece. The dress almost incorporates two styles in one - a mini dress at the back and a ballgown at the front. The voluminous skirt at the front is indicated by pockets that are inserted at the sides, providing such unique structure. On the neckline of the bodice is a tube bow to replicate this fullness of the skirt at the front, whilst the styling of the full-length white gloves capture the chicness and evening glamour of the look.

Actress Denny Méndez stunned in a elegant and crisp white Gabriele Fiorucci Bucciarelli evening gown whose hem just hovers above the floor and is designed with a thigh-high split on one side. The fitted and column silhouette is lifted through the bell sleeves which is double layered and its draping shown in its movement. Across the shoulders and neckline, it is decorated with a delicate golden jewelled design, acting in place as shoulder pads to instantly add more structure across the top line and capture the glamour of a red carpet.

Fashion design Christian Louboutin has worn a couple of stylish suits already at this year's Venice Film Festival, expanding the collection with this baby pink striped two-piece. The jacket is designed with a two-button front (the button themselves are a light brown horn style) with four smaller versions positioned on the cuffs. Notch lapels, angled narrow flapped pockets and a pocket square tucked into the chest welt pocket helps to capture the summery setting, whilst also providing a snazzy take on the red carpet wardrobe. The trousers are cut straight with a subtle centre crease, the hem brushing the shoes, and to finish, the outfit is worn with a white shirt underneath and a silver shimmery bow tie.

Violinist Dominique Lemonnier kept it crisp too as she donned a two-piece double-breasted white suit which looks to have a subtle beige pink undertone to it. The jacket is a classic four-button front with an angled welt pocket on the chest and two flapped pockets lower down. The lapels are notched to strengthen the more casual vibe of the tailoring, finished with padded shoulders and worn with straight-leg trousers with a subtle relaxed hem. Underneath, she wore a white open collar shirt, whose cuffs would show significantly through the jacket sleeves and would accessorise with a tie left unfastened, draped round the collar and down the front.

Mark Rylance

Actor Mark Rylance is another name who is also appearing in the film "Bones & All", and was spotted on the red carpet donning a classic and dapper suit indeed. It was a plain black two-piece that was worn with a contrasting patterned double-breasted waistcoat, albeit subtle in design so as not to overpower the tailoring overall. It included ten buttons on the front (5x5 style) with four single jet pockets, cut with a straight hem and no lapels to leave a crisp edge. A classic white shirt was worn underneath and styled with a narrow red tie tucked behind the waistcoat. The jacket itself was a three-button design with notch lapels and an elongated collar on one side to include an extra buttonhole. The shoulders were softly structured, double jet pockets were included near the bottom of the jacket, and the trousers were a classic straight-leg cut with pockets on the sides.

The director of the film, Luca Guadagnino, was also in attendance for the red carpet premiere as he sported a double-breasted number with a white and red splattered design shirt underneath. The suit was constructed from a plain navy blue cloth as the jacket featured six buttons on the front and sharp peak lapels. The top line appeared to look quite relaxed as the sleeves were finished with four-button cuffs and the shirt cuffs showing through for extra detail. The flapped pockets were positioned below the waist and the welt pocket decorated with a brooch. The trousers had a relaxed cut to them with looseness in the fabric drapes and the hem falling to sit on top of the shoes.

Spotted on the red carpet was actress Amy Jackson, whose Giorgio Armani attire was quite relaxed yet completely glamorous through its embellishment and design. The jacket was only fastened from the collar down by a small amount, creating this illusion of a very tall notched hem. The collar was a high neck and heavily decorated with embellishments and jewels  which would drape down in this circular motion onto the garment itself, almost replicating a heavily bejewelled necklace, the same detail also featuring on the sleeve cuffs. The shoulders were relaxed to mirror the soft lines the outfit creates, juxtaposed by the vast amount of beading that forms the whole look. High-waisted trousers were the style of choice with a wide-leg cut draping to the floor and giving more attention to the beading involved.

Ahead of the film's release, the red carpet definitely delivered with more red carpet glamour underneath the sartorial spotlight! Below are a few more looks from the event, which outfit was your favourite?
