BRIT Awards 2022: The Gentlemen of the Red Carpet

The BRIT Awards were back for 2022 and back in February as it's normally scheduled in the year, taking place at the O2 Arena in London. Known for being The British Phonographic Industry's most popular music award ceremony, the famous awards were handed out to some of the biggest music stars in the industry as this year, the categories were gender-neutral. With such an event, we expect some glamorous looks - and the red carpet delivered with some dapperly dressed gentlemen this year.

Mo Gilligan

Comedian Mo Gilligan was the host of the 2022 BRIT Awards that too place on Tuesday (8th January 2022) and rightly so for the occasion, he sported two very dapper suits that can be seen above. During the live event, his suit of choice was a smart three-piece pine green suit from Ozwald Boateng, styled with a white shirt whose collar was angled at the front and secured with a collar pin. He also accessorised with a teal green narrow tie and personalised cufflinks as a thin lapel pin was fastened to the peak lapels. Angled flapped pockets sat below the waist with the single-breasted waistcoat fastened using four out of five buttons. With four-button cuffs on the sleeves, it was very different to his red carpet evening tuxedo with a one-button front and shawl collar. His dress shirt was fastened with black studs whilst he accessorised with a fitting black bow tie and folded white pocket square in the welt pocket.

 KSI

YouTuber and rapper KSI had two of his hits nominated in the same category for Song of the Year, the songs being "Holiday" and "Don't Play" with Anne-Marie and Digital Farm Animals. The rapper also performed on-stage with Anne-Marie but for the red carpet, he rocked up in a two-piece grey suit of an outfit that was consisting of Prada and HELIOT EMIL. It was modern in the cut with soft padding in the shoulders and narrow peak lapels; but note the double jet opening to allow the black harness to filter through. Double jets also acted as pockets under the waist and the cuffs were finished with three buttons each, whilst his trousers were slim and a small slit in the hem allowed more attention to be placed on his shoes.

Tom Grennan

Singer Tom Grennan shone in a gold double-breasted BOSS suit as he was nominated for Song of the Year with "Little Bit Of Love" and Best Rock/Alternative on the night. The collar was contrasting in a deeper shade of gold for a defining feature of the look as he donned notch lapels and a four-button front. The buttons and thin double jet pockets were all matching the collar fabric to give the look a bit more depth for the evening event, along with side stripes on his trousers and a sharp centre crease with a subtle hem break. His shirt was a light cream with a classic collar, a front pleated panel and the cuffs on show through the jacket for a sartorial finish.

GHETTS

Rapper GHETTS was nominated for Best Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap at this year's BRITs and for it, sported a rather smart and glitzy dinner jacket that was paired with black trousers and a crisp white formal shirt. The jacket included notch lapels which sat quite low down on the body for an elongated silhouette, whilst the fabric button cuffs tone down the shimmer of the sequins for a more sophisticated look. The buttons also blend nicely with the side stripe on the trousers as the rapper completes the suiting ensemble with the classic black bow tie.

Tom Daley

Olympian Tom Daley was spotted in attendance at the music awards wearing Louis Vuitton as his outfit consisted of a printed black, white and gold shirt worn underneath a sleeveless blazer. His black trousers were slim and tucked into his high boots for an edgy red carpet look, one that was balanced out with the smart elements of notch lapels and thin double jet pockets. The jacket with its two-button fastening was left open to show the bold shirt underneath, designed with black buttons and a classic shirt collar.

Graziano Di Prima

Strictly Come Dancing professional Graziano Di Prima attended the BRITs' red carpet with fellow Strictly professional Oti Mabuse as he dressed for the occasion wearing a smart contrasting dinner jacket and slim black trousers with a break at the hem. The jacket up close gives a subtle illusion with a shadow behind the colourful and delicate floral patterns, with hints of blues and golds capturing the light really well. The contrasting wide peak lapels help to balance the padded shoulders whilst two double jet pockets are subtle on the jacket front, so not as to distract from the elegant design of the piece.

220Kid

Record producer and DJ 220Kid was nominated for his joint track with Nathan and Billen Ted titled "Wellerman" for Song of the Year and on the red carpet, did not disappoint. His eye-catching look from Lanvin included a long turquoise blue double-breasted overcoat with double jet pockets and a six-button front. With a welt pocket sitting behind the wide peak lapels, two parallel navy blue lines featured on the collar and was a great link to the darker leopard/cheetah spots on his textured shirt. The sleeves and back of the shirt are a dark purple, allowing the front panel to stand out even more with it also tucked into his dark slim-line trousers. The cuffs of the overcoat also feature the same parallel line feature as seen on the collar.

Munya Chawawa

Comedian Munya Chawawa presented live from the red carpet at the BRITs with influencer and media personality Nella Rose and looked dapper doing so as he sported a dark blue/green suit, comprised of a jacket and trousers. To style with it, the comedian went for a crisp white shirt with the cuffs exposed through the jacket and accessorised with a silver chain underneath the shirt collar. The chain linked very well to the unique hooked fastening of the jacket to secure the double-breasted silhouette in place. Notch lapels sat flat against the chest whilst welt pockets sat just below the waist. His trousers were slim with the hem just sitting above his white shoes for a clean finish.
