The British Fashion Awards were held this week on the 4th of December at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The annual event is a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council, which supports the growth and success of the British fashion industry by encouraging education, giving grants, and mentoring businesses. This year's winners included Vogue's Edward Enninful, who was awarded the Trailblazer Award. Charlotte Tilbury was honoured with a Special Recognition Award, Valentino Garavani received the Outstanding Achievement Award, Paloma Elsesser was given Model of the Year, and Jonathan Anderson won Designer of the Year for JW Anderson and Loewe.
Of course, plenty of celebrities attended to strut their stuff and show off their impeccable taste in fashion on the red carpet. Watch the video to see a few arrivals, and then let's take a look at some of the standouts from the evening.
Lucien Laviscount
Lucien Laviscount, better known to many as Alfie in Emily in Paris, braved the cold and drizzly December weather in an unusual, bright white sleeveless Dolce and Gabbana wraparound tux and no shirt.
Stormzy
British rapper Stormzy is always impeccably dressed, and this red carpet was no exception. His monochromatic white outfit featured tailored trousers in denim, a coordinating denim jacket, and a white crew neck light-weight jumper. He finished the laid-back look with white and silver Prada trainers.
Andrew Garfield
Spiderman and Tick, Tick...Boom! actor Andrew Garfield wore more classic attire, donning a traditional black Valentino tuxedo with straight-cut trousers and notch lapels, a white dress shirt, and a black bow tie. The jacket was jazzed up with a black 3D flower applique on the left breast.
Edward Enninful
Edward Enninful was the editor-in-chief of British Vogue and one of the evening's award winners. He walked the red carpet in a custom grey suit by Phoebe Philo. The double-breasted jacket was oversized with wide, peak lapels and the trousers were loose and comfortable-looking. He, like Stormzy, chose unusual footwear for a red carpet (especially with a suit!) - trainers.
Sir Ozwald Boateng
Sir Ozwald Boateng is an English fashion designer known for his twists on classic tailoring and bespoke styles. He chose a three-piece suit in a vibrant emerald shade for the event. The single-breasted jacket had skinny, notch lapels and flap pockets. He also made a casual statement with an unbuttoned shirt and white trainers.
