Cannes Film Festival 2026: Best Dressed Men

Cannes Film Festival 2026: Best Dressed Men

Saturday, May 23, marked the end of the 12-day 79th annual Cannes Film Festival. South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook served as jury president for the main competition, with Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu winning the coveted Palme d’Or for the second time with his drama film Fjord. Three honorary Palm d’Ors were awarded this year to director Peter Jackson, actor John Travolta, and Singer and actress Barbra Streisand. Almost two weeks of red carpets and movie photo calls yield plenty of celebrity fashion choices to admire. The Festival has a strict black-tie dress code for its red-carpet events, leading to some pretty samey men’s ensembles. However, some men have pushed the envelope, creating interesting, dynamic, and modern black-tie looks. Below, we have selected a few standout outfits.

Colman Domingo

Euphoria and Michael actor Colman Domingo is well known for his fashion-forward looks. At the Garance premiere on May 17, he chose a purple silk shirt by Valentino featuring sheer sleeves and a beaded overlay, which transformed into an inbuilt cape at the back. He paired it with a matching coloured cummerbund, pinstriped trousers, and a diamond-encrusted brooch in place of a tie.

Rami Malek

At the Kering Women In Motion Awards, Nuremberg actor Rami Malek chose a sleek black velvet suit with a matching black shirt and no tie. The jacket featured contrasting satin peak lapels, which matched the satin trim on the trousers’ pocket openings.
