Cannes Film Festival 2026: Best Dressed Women

Cannes Film Festival 2026: Best Dressed Women

Saturday, May 23, marked the end of the 12-day 79th annual Cannes Film Festival. South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook served as jury president for the main competition, with Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu winning the coveted Palme d'Or for the second time with his drama film Fjord. Three honorary Palm d'Ors were awarded this year to director Peter Jackson, actor John Travolta, and Singer and actress Barbra Streisand. Almost two weeks of red carpets and movie photo calls produce a lot of celebrity ensembles to admire. Below, we have selected a few standout looks.

Cate Blanchett

Australian superstar Cate Blanchett attended the screening of the film Garance on May 17 in a backless Givenchy black-and-floral fringed halter dress with matching bonbon gloves.

Bella Hadid

Supermodel Bella Hadid caused controversy at the premiere of La Bataille De Gaulle: L'Age De Fer in a white lace Schiaparelli gown inspired by one of Jane Birkin's most famous looks. The controversy arose because naked dresses were banned in 2025 in the name of decency. This dress, with its sheer lace and plunging, cleavage-exposing neckline, skirted the edges of the new rules and garnered much attention. Bella styled the fishtailed gown with her signature slicked-back hair and "Clean Girl" makeup, and accessorised with dazzling diamond earrings and rings.

Demi Moore

Substance star Demi Moore showed off a number of stunning looks throughout the Festival, but our standout was the fuchsia ballgown by Matieres Fecales that she wore to the Paper Tiger screening on May 16. The dress featured an extra-large bow at the top of the twisted bodice, and the bow and hem were frayed and ragged, revealing the bell-shaped tulle underskirts. She paired it with long, flowing, wavy hair and oversized earrings to match the gown's outsized proportions.

Zoe Saldana

Guardians of the Galaxy actress Zoe Saldana also chose oversized bows, this time at the Festival's closing ceremony on May 23. Her black, floral-printed silk Chanel dress was adorned with a floppy bow at the dropped waist and a bustle-style, trailing contrasting white floral bow at the back.
