The MTV Video Music Awards took place on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. Winners on the night included Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and Rosé. Award ceremonies always bring out celebrities dressed to the nines in their sartorial best. Let's take a look at some of the outfits that caught our eye.
Lenny Kravitz
Lenny Kravitz, nominated for the Best Rock award for his song "Honey", arrived at the ceremony in a brown windowpane checked double-breasted suit by Saint Laurent. The trousers were wide and straight-cut, and he left his jacket unbuttoned to display his bare chest festooned with gold chains and pendants.
Ricky Martin
1990s superstar Ricky Martin attended the VMAs to perform. He walked the red carpet in an oversized, pale blue, pirate-style silk shirt, paired with wide-legged, straight-cut trousers.
Kid Laroi
Australian singer Kid Laroi arrived at the award show looking sharp in a dazzlingly white oversized suit with long, straight-cut trousers and wide, notch lapels. He paired it with a contrasting black madarin collar shirt and black patent shoes.
Yungblud
"Parents" singer Yungblud followed Lenny Kravitz's example by going shirtless. He donned a fur-trimmed, long, leather coat and matching, tight, leather trousers. He completed the outfit with chunky boots and heavyweight silver jewellery and accessories.
Sombr
Best New Artist nominee Sombr posed on the red carpet in a slim-fitting, single-breasted, belted black suit with slightly flared trousers. The suit had a romantic 70s-esq vibe with beautiful and colourful flower embroidery on its wide lapels and cuffs. He finished the look with studded, pointed black boots.
