The 29th Critics' Choice Awards were held on January 14th at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Comedian Chelsea Handler hosted the ceremony for the second year. Among the winners were Oppenheimer with eight trophies, Barbie with six gongs, Emma Stone for Best Actress in Poor Things, Paul Giamatti for Best Actor in The Holdovers, and Robert Downey Jr for Best Supporting Actor. Various sartorial trends, from colourful suits to red gowns, rosettes, jumpsuits, and trailing trains, stood out. Let's take a look at some of the most eye-catching looks from the evening.
Tom Holland
English actor Tom Holland looked sharp in a chocolate brown double-breasted three-piece suit. He paired it with an unconventionally coloured (for a red carpet) pink shirt, a pair of black Chelsea boots, and a matching black tie.
Matt Bomer
Matt Bomer, the recipient of an award for the miniseries Fellow Travelers, popped in an electric blue tuxedo with satin peak lapels, a matching cummerbund, and a tieless shirt left cheekily unbuttoned to show a peek of chest and layered chains.
Charles Melton
Riverdale star Charles Melton jumped on the red bandwagon in a gorgeous double-breasted Valentino suit with white lining and black buttons. He styled the outfit with a white spread-collar shirt, chunky black loafers, and a skinny black tie that all echoed the suit's buttons.
Colman Domingo
Candyman Colman Domingo stood out on the red carpet in a mustard-coloured suit with high-waisted, straight-cut trousers. He combined it with an unbuttoned sky-blue Valentino shirt and gold Louboutin boots featuring block heels and pointed toes. The whole outfit shouted 1970s!
Kieran Culkin
Succession star and brother of Macaulay, Kieran Culkin, chose a teal single-breasted, peak lapel Zegna suit that he styled with a dapper mandarin collared white shirt. He accessorised with stacked beaded bracelets and a pearl lapel pin.
