Donna Paulson, Suits - A Hand Tailored Suit

Donna Paulson, Suits

Fans of the legal drama series will be anxiously waiting to see what season six has in store for it’s central characters. If you’re struggling to wait for the new plot twists and unanswered questions form series five to be addressed, take a trip down a rather stylish memory lane, as we take a look at the sharp styling of the show, starting with the leading ladies. We won’t be talking about what did or didn’t happen when they wore these outfits (in case you’re frantically catching up on the past five seasons first), but we will be picking out our favourite wardrobe pieces.
And now it’s the turn of Donna Pearson.
Some would say she’s what makes it possible for Harvey (and by default Mike too) carry out their somewhat unconventional plans to crack a case. Yes she’ll deal with calls, emails and post sent her bosses way, but she’ll also step up to the plate and go above and beyond to help him when things get tricky. Loyal to Harvey, but also it seems, loyal to the tailored dress. It’s her go to piece, channeling a chic Rouland Mouret-esque silhouette, in an array of patterns and textures.
Style Notes: This particular style if often seen with the pencil style skirt. This means the eye will be drawn to the waist. Play around with this, by using the waist as an area for detail – ruching, belts, and faux pockets are all easily added to a look without distracting from the overall shape. If you don’t opt for embellishment at the waist, consider an alternative shape neckline. A wider opening can allow for many style, including boat, square or geometric cut outs.
