King Charles' Highgrove Dinner: Celebrity Guest Style Focus
Share
On Friday, February 7th, 2025, Italian-American actor Stanley Tucci held a dinner for the King and Queen at the King's Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire. He worked with Chef Francesco Mazzei to create a meal based on the 'Slow Food Initiative', which was conceived in the Italian town of Bra in 1986 by Carlo Petrini. The feast was made using only British ingredients but cooked using Italian culinary traditions, fully embodying the principles of Slow Food. The event came as Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King and Queen will go on a State Visit to Italy and the Holy See in April.
The King gave a speech during the dinner, saying, "Good food brings people together, and what we choose to eat helps define us - as families, communities, and nations. It brings us sustenance but also comfort. It binds generations, as recipes are passed down from one to another".
Graduates from The King's Foundation were also in attendance. The Foundation focuses on slow fashion as well as slow food. Stanly Tucci wasn't the only celebrity or noteworthy figure to join the King and Queen at the celebration. The Italian ambassador, Inigo Lambertini, and Donatella Versace were just two among the guests. Let's take a look at the invitee's (hopefully slow fashion!) outfits for the special evening.
King Charles III
King Charles chose a traditional black tuxedo with a white dress shirt, white pocket square, and a classic black bow tie for the occasion.
Queen Camilla
Queen Camilla wore a navy blue velvet gown with diamond-shaped cutouts that showed the royal blue lining beneath. The Queen has been seen in this gown several times, embodying sustainable and slow fashion virtues for the event. She accessorised with her diamond serpent necklace and two of the Queen Mother's diamond and sapphire Cartier bracelets.
Stanley Tucci and Felicity Blunt
Stanley Tucci donned a black, slim-fitting, single-breasted suit with tapering trousers. He paired it with a matching black tie and a white classic collar shirt. His wife Felicity dressed in a midi-length black dress with short sheer sleeves and black beadwork over the entire gown.
Dame Helen Mirren
Dame Helen wore an emerald green dress with a high-necked and long-sleeved lace bodice and a plain floor-length A-line skirt. She styled it with a matching headband and oversized stud earrings.
Donatella Versace
Donatella Versace dressed in one of Atelier Versace's creations for the evening. According to her Instagram, the sparkly pink ruched dress took five artisans five hundred hours to complete. She paired it with chandelier earrings with matching pink stones.
David and Victoria Beckham
Like the King, David Beckham chose a classic black tuxedo with satin shawl lapels, a white shirt, and a black bow tie. His wife, Victoria, wore one of her own creations from her fashion line. The white floor-length dress featured split flutter sleeves, bow-shaped pleating over the hips, and a rippling skirt.
