L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé 2026: Express Your Worth Beneath the Eiffel Tower

L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé 2026: Express Your Worth Beneath the Eiffel Tower

L’Oréal Paris | Le Défilé 2026 | Place Joffre, Paris

Paris Fashion Week has a habit of producing spectacular settings.

But it is difficult to compete with an illuminated Eiffel Tower as your backdrop.

On 28 September 2026, L’Oréal Paris transformed Place Joffre into an open-air runway for the ninth edition of Le Défilé, bringing together fashion, beauty, music and an extraordinary collection of global personalities beneath one of Paris's most recognisable landmarks.

This year's message was simple:

“Express Your Worth.”

And with an international cast of models, actresses, athletes and ambassadors taking to the runway, the evening became as much about individuality and self-expression as it was about the clothes themselves.

Paris Becomes the Runway

There are fashion shows.

And then there are fashion shows where the Eiffel Tower becomes part of the set.

For Le Défilé 2026, L’Oréal Paris chose Place Joffre, creating an enormous runway against the backdrop of the illuminated monument.

The location immediately gave the event a distinctly Parisian character.

There was no need for an elaborate futuristic stage.

No need for a complicated architectural installation.

Just Paris.

The Eiffel Tower.

And a runway filled with some of the most recognisable faces in fashion and entertainment.

It was spectacularly simple.

And sometimes, the best backdrop is the one that has already been there for more than a century.

Express Your Worth

The central theme of this year's show was “Express Your Worth” — a continuation of L’Oréal Paris's long-running message of self-confidence and individual expression.

But rather than presenting that message through a single type of woman, Le Défilé brought together an intentionally diverse group of ambassadors.

Viola Davis.

Jane Fonda.

Kendall Jenner.

Eva Longoria.

Cara Delevingne.

Andie MacDowell.

Aja Naomi King.

Simone Ashley.

Aishwarya Rai.

And, making her runway debut for the brand, Kristen Bell.

Alongside them were athletes and other ambassadors, including Paralympic champion Bebe Vio and Paralympic skier Marie Bochet.

The result was less about one particular definition of beauty and more about the idea that beauty can look very different from one person to the next.

A Runway Without a Single Definition

One of the most interesting aspects of Le Défilé is that it isn't structured around a conventional fashion-house collection.

L’Oréal Paris isn't presenting one designer's vision from beginning to end.

Instead, the runway becomes a celebration of fashion and beauty as forms of personal expression.

That means dramatically different aesthetics can exist alongside one another.

Classic glamour.

Contemporary minimalism.

Statement eveningwear.

Sculptural silhouettes.

Bold beauty looks.

And everything in between.

The common thread isn't necessarily the clothes.

It is the confidence of the wearer.

Kendall Jenner Takes Centre Stage

Among the familiar faces on the runway was Kendall Jenner, who returned to the L’Oréal Paris catwalk in a dramatic sheer black maxi dress.

The look combined a high neckline with a pronounced slit and a sleek, evening-focused silhouette.

It was a reminder that sometimes the simplest colour palette can create the biggest impact.

Black.

Sheer fabric.

A confident silhouette.

And the Eiffel Tower glowing behind it.

Paris really doesn't need much help.

Aishwarya Rai Brings Hollywood-Style Glamour

Another standout appearance came from Aishwarya Rai, whose look introduced a dramatic beauty transformation alongside her runway styling.

Her rich burgundy-red hair became a major part of the overall look, paired with black velvet and a striking red lip.

It demonstrated something that Le Défilé understands particularly well:

beauty doesn't simply complete the outfit.

Sometimes the beauty look is the outfit.

Hair colour, makeup, skin finish and styling can completely change the character of a garment.

And in a show built around self-expression, that becomes particularly important.

Viola Davis: Confidence Has No Age Limit

The inclusion of Viola Davis and Jane Fonda alongside younger models was another important part of the show's visual language.

Fashion and beauty are often presented through a very narrow age range.

Le Défilé deliberately pushed against that convention.

The runway included women at very different stages of their lives, demonstrating that glamour and confidence aren't restricted to one particular age.

And perhaps that is one of the most useful messages to take from the evening.

Style doesn't have an expiry date.

The New Face: Kristen Bell

For Kristen Bell, this year's show marked a new chapter.

The actress had been announced as a L’Oréal Paris global ambassador in August 2026, and Le Défilé became her first runway appearance for the brand.

She joined the existing ambassador line-up on the Paris runway, bringing another recognisable face to an event already packed with international talent.

It also reinforced one of L’Oréal Paris's central ideas for the show:

everyone brings something different to the runway.

Fashion Meets Beauty

While Le Défilé isn't a traditional designer fashion show, its importance during Paris Fashion Week lies in the way it connects two worlds.

Fashion and beauty.

The clothes create the silhouette.

The hair creates movement.

The makeup creates character.

And the combination creates the final image.

L’Oréal Paris brought together its global makeup and hair teams, with Harold James leading the makeup direction and Stéphane Lancien overseeing hair.

That backstage collaboration is crucial.

A runway look isn't simply about the garment.

It is about everything that surrounds it.

The Beauty Looks

This year's beauty direction moved between polished skin, defined eyes, statement lips and more dramatic evening finishes.

One of the strongest recurring ideas was the contrast between radiant skin and stronger colour accents.

A bold lip can transform a relatively understated outfit.

A graphic eye can make a classic black dress feel considerably more contemporary.

And a change of hair colour can completely alter someone's appearance.

In other words, beauty becomes another form of tailoring.

It frames the face.

It changes proportion.

It directs attention.

And it can completely alter the personality of a look.

More Than a Fashion Show

Le Défilé has another characteristic that separates it from many traditional fashion events:

the public can be part of it.

L’Oréal Paris describes the event as an open celebration designed to take the runway beyond the traditional fashion-week front row, with the show livestreamed internationally across its digital platforms.

That changes the atmosphere.

The runway isn't simply being presented to fashion editors and buyers.

It is being presented to a global audience.

And that fits perfectly with the message of the evening.

If the theme is self-expression, then the audience becomes part of the conversation.

The Eiffel Tower Finale

And then came the moment that only Paris can really deliver.

The Eiffel Tower illuminated the backdrop as the show built towards its conclusion.

But rather than ending quietly, the finale featured a very special appearance from Céline Dion.

Dion, who previously served as a L’Oréal Paris ambassador, made a surprise appearance and performed “I'm Alive”, bringing the evening to a dramatic close.

It was a suitably theatrical ending to a show built around confidence, individuality and self-expression.

And if you're going to finish a Paris Fashion Week event...

You might as well finish it with Céline Dion.

What Can Bespoke Tailoring Take From Le Défilé?

Although L’Oréal Paris is fundamentally a beauty brand, there are some interesting lessons here for bespoke tailoring.

The first is individuality.

A beautifully made suit should enhance the person wearing it rather than overwhelm them.

The second is the importance of the complete look.

A suit is never just the jacket and trousers.

The shirt.

Tie.

Pocket square.

Shoes.

Watch.

Hair.

Even the way the garment is worn.

They all contribute to the final impression.

And finally, there is confidence.

The finest bespoke garment isn't necessarily the loudest.

It is the one that makes the wearer feel completely comfortable in their own clothes.

L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé 2026 — The Off The Cuff Take

L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé 2026 was never simply about putting famous faces on a runway.

It was a celebration of individuality.

From Kendall Jenner and Aishwarya Rai to Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria, Kristen Bell and the many ambassadors who joined them, the evening deliberately avoided presenting one single definition of beauty.

Instead, it offered a much broader message:

style belongs to the individual.

And perhaps that's why the Eiffel Tower made such a fitting backdrop.

Paris has been inspiring fashion for generations.

But the clothes, ultimately, are still worn by individuals.

And that's where fashion becomes personal.

A Witty Footnote…

L’Oréal Paris brought Kendall Jenner, Aishwarya Rai, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Céline Dion and the Eiffel Tower together for one evening.

We've officially run out of excuses for our next dinner party.

Although we're fairly certain “Place Joffre” isn't going to fit around our dining table.
