The 15th September 2022 marked our #AHandTailoredSuit groom Andrew's special wedding as he tied the knot in Sorrento, Italy! For his attire, he came to us for not one, but two linen suits (one for himself and his best man, Jake) that would keep them both cool in the warm weather whilst looking cool themselves. Before we delve into the suits in further detail, our tailoring team would like to wish Andrew many congratulations on his wedding!
For both gentlemen, we created three-piece suits that would involve a notch lapel jacket in its single-breasted cut. One button would be the main fastening on the front in a brown horn style, with four smaller versions included on the jacket cuffs. The pockets of choice would be two thin double jets with pocket flaps on the front with an angled welt pocket on the chest. To match the white lining inside, the pocket square would also be designed as such to create that subtle, cohesive finish to the attire. The trousers would be slim cut with the hem finishing just over the tops of their shoes and a centre crease down the front, providing extra sharpness to the linen.
Both their waistcoats would be matching in linen with a white lining and back too; but to differentiate the attires slightly, it would be the groom Andrew who would wear a double-breasted piece with the best man Jake wearing the single-breasted waistcoat. The double-breasted version was made with six buttons on the front and angled double jet pockets either side. The notch lapels were part of a scooped line that would just be noticed underneath the jacket when fastened, with other details including a small vent on the sides and a wide notch hem at the bottom. The single-breasted waistcoat was designed with a four-button front and notch lapels as well, the same double jet pockets and notched hem included to keep the linen attires linked with one another.
It's always about the details when it comes to bespoke tailoring, as we say, so when it came to the finishing touches on these suits, we included colourful buttonholes on the cuffs to reflect the Italian flag. Furthermore, a lovely light green monogrammed message was included on the undercollar of the jacket, detailing the date and location of the wedding with a special message too. It's these details that would make Andrew's wedding suit perfectly individual to him and unique.
