London Fashion Week Fall 2019 Runway and Street Style - A Hand Tailored Suit

London Fashion Week Fall 2019 Runway and Street Style

London Fashion Week 2019 ran from Friday, 13 September to Tuesday, 17 September at The Store X London. London is the second of the ‘Big Four’ fashion weeks with Milan Fashion Week starting on the 17th of September and ending on the 23rd of September and Paris Fashion Week closing the events from the 23rd of September to the 1st of October. Let’s take a look at the London trends this season.

Burberry

Burberry this year opted for monochrome suits in greys, beiges, blacks, whites, and light blues. The good news for us is that tailoring is still very much on-trend in New York and London this season. New York Fashion Week saw tailoring as on-trend, but not in neutral colours. In New York, the colours were loud and bold. The more neutral palette of London Fashion Week might appeal to the everyday suit wearer and has a timeless, lasting feel. Which suit trends are your favourite this season?

Victoria Beckham

Like Burberry, Victoria Beckham is bringing neutral-coloured tailoring to the forefront. She’s showcasing the use of browns, beiges, and creams, perfect Autumn colours this season with a mix of structured and relaxed tailoring.

Halpern

If neutrals aren’t your style, designer Halpern has just the inspiration you need. Think everything glitter! Glitter and sequin dresses. Glitter and sequin suits. Silvers, golds, colours. What do you think of this unique trend?

Front Row

Here are some celebrities spotted in the front row of the shows. The trends vary from loud and colourful back to our on-trend neutrals. Suits are in fashion as are embellished dresses that show a little skin. Silky, luxurious fabrics are big this season too. Do you love any of these front-row looks?

Other Designers

Check out some other inspiring looks from other designers such as Erdem, Huishan Zhang, Richard Malone, Christopher Kane, and Charlotte Knowles. Overall, the impression of London Fashion Week is that you can either dress in British-neutrals (think English countryside tweed and beige, brown, cream, black, navy, and so on) or there’s room for a more international feel, harking back to oriental styles of the past. Again, tailoring is a key trend and has been for many months now. Part of the reason tailoring is so enduring is that in hard economic times, lasting quality wardrobe staples are more important. In a time of fast fashion, it’s best to stick with pieces that will be bought once and last for years. Higher-quality more luxuriant fabrics are being seen on the runway, some trends are here to stay and others may only last the season, but tailoring will always endure. Which of these looks is your favourite?
