September marks the beginning of month-long fashion show extravaganzas for spring/summer 2025, starting in New York before moving to London and Milan and finally wrapping up in Paris at the start of October.
London Fashion Week kicked off on the 12th of September and finished on Tuesday the 17th of September. London Fashion Week was celebrating its fortieth anniversary, and the week featured presentations and catwalks from designers such as S.S. Daly, Nensi Dojaka in collaboration with Calvin Klein, Chopova Lowena, Paolo Carzana, Aaron Esh, JW Anderson, Burberry, Simone Rocha, Roksanda, and Erdem.
Like New York Fashion Week, the focus for this upcoming spring/summer season was bright and bold colours paired with neutral shades. Other similarities included an emphasis on nostalgia for past decades. Trends included padded and rounded hips, dropped waistlines, bows, and the layering of sheer pieces.
Daniel Lee, the creative director for Burberry, held his Spring/Summer 25 collection runway at the National Theatre. Take a look at the full runway show below.
The collection was focused mainly on dressing for "The Great Outdoors" and featured a suitably earthy colour palette with a few pops of pastel orange and lilac. The pieces had a practical feel and included relaxed, slim-at-the-ankle caro-trousers, waxed jackets, parkers, and cropped rain capes. Altered versions of Burberry's famous trench coat in the form of cropped high-low interpretations and dresses based on it were present. Elegance was added to utilitarian clothing with floaty batwing sleeves, striped neckties, feathers, and oversized pussybow blouses. Some sparkly dresses were also thrown into the mix, and, of course, the Burberry check ran throughout the collection on jackets, belts, and bag straps. Take a closer look at some of the pieces below.
