They say a picture (or pictures!) speak a thousand words!
The 13th March 2022 marked the special date of our #AHandTailoredSuit customer Mark who tied the knot during his black tie wedding! This bespoke jacket was a special one for our team, as we had the honour of making matching father-and-son attire for himself and his son, Owen. They both wore matching green velvet evening jackets, shirts and bow ties, and here are the garments in closer detail.
The jackets were constructed with a shawl lapel that were angled slightly at the bottom, both single-breasted jackets designed with the classic one button commonly associated with dinner jackets. Welt pockets featured on the chest as the flapped pockets at the bottom were positioned on a straight angle, the pocket flaps finished with curved corners to maintain the evening elegance of the suit.
The backs of the jackets for the father and son were constructed with double vents for ease of movement during the wedding, and the cuffs finished in a dapper style through the matching green velvet gauntlet design. The buttons were also covered in the matching green velvet and arranged in the four-button design on the cuffs. Making the suits even more striking for Mark's wedding was the choice of red paisley satin for pocket square and lining, edged in a contrast red silk piping.
Their shirts were of the Marcella evening style as the details consisted of semi-cutaway collars, straight double cuffs and black studded buttons down the centre front. These really enhance the black tie attire dress code, as do too the matching green velvet bow ties we had custom-made for the special day. It's always about the finest and smallest of details in bespoke tailoring, and for the special finishing touch, both Mark and Owen had a special message embroidered in a contrasting turquoise thread.
