Milan Fashion Week. Day Four, June 19th 2023: Giorgio Armani - A Hand Tailored Suit

Milan Fashion Week. Day Four, June 19th 2023: Giorgio Armani

Milan Fashion Week was established in 1958 as a bi-annual fashion showcase. Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana organises it to promote Italian fashion designers in Italy and abroad. Milan Fashion Week Men's takes place in January and June, while the womenswear takes place in February and September. This year the men's event took place between the 16th and 20th of June. Milan Men's Fashion Week presented some of the biggest names in the industry for the upcoming spring/summer 24 season. Take a look at the Giorgio Armani runway on day four, 19th June, below.

The SS24 collection referenced Armani's first menswear collection from 1975 with raffia woven shirting, bags, and shoes used in his premier. The suiting was made from lightweight fabrics and featured slouchy trousers and straw hat accessories, giving beach holidays, safari, or exploration vibes. Eveningwear was represented with a darker colour palette and heavier materials, such as wool, and there was also a handful of casual outfits with monograms and geometric prints, and finally, traditional formal suits. Let's take a look at some of the standout pieces.

Outfit #1

This ensemble is a smart-casual holiday look with a geometric print loose-fitting T-shirt, beautifully tailored but slouchy and comfortable navy trousers, and pops of colour and fun in the bright red bandana and straw hat.

Outfit #2

This seafoam-coloured three-piece suit is more formal with its traditional single-breasted waistcoat and jacket but still suitable for hotter climes with its lightweight silk, loose-fit, and elastic-waisted trousers.

Outfit #3

Another more traditional suit with a three-button closure, notch lapels, and jetted pockets is showcased here. The gorgeous navy silk satin makes it more suitable for summery evenings, and the geometric print T-shirt offsets its formality.

Outfit #4

This suit is of a more conventional cut and fabric for suiting. The jacket features beautiful contrasting slim shawl lapels, a two-button closure, and straight jetted pockets. The trousers are of a wide-legged fit, and it is paired with a classic collar white shirt. Playfulness is added to this look in a tie with the geometric print seen throughout the collection.
