Milan Fashion Week, September 2025: Gucci

Milan Fashion Week took place between September 23rd and 29th. It follows on from London Fashion Week, which took place last week, and New York Fashion Week, held from September 18th to 22nd. The month-long fashion extravaganza moved on to Paris on September 29th, finally wrapping up on October 7th. September Fashion Weeks are designers' opportunities to showcase their Spring/Summer collections for the upcoming year. This year's top designers at MFW included Diesel, Fendi, Gucci, Prada, and Giorgio Armani.

Gucci made headlines at Milan Fashion Week with a star-studded presentation that marked designer Demna's debut collection for the iconic Italian house. The Fall/Winter 2025 collection, titled "Continuum," represents a harmonious blend of past, present, and future – a fitting introduction to Demna's vision for Gucci's next chapter.

The presentation took place on September 23rd and featured a unique runway shaped like the Interlocking G logo, symbolising the intersection of two paths forming a greater whole. This powerful visual metaphor captured the essence of Demna's approach: honouring Gucci's storied heritage whilst propelling the brand into new territory.

Rather than a traditional runway show, Gucci staged an intimate presentation that included a specially commissioned film, creating an immersive cinematic experience for attendees. The star-studded front row featured A-list celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow and Demi Moore, who were spotted wearing pieces from the collection, demonstrating immediate buy-in from fashion's elite.

The "Continuum" collection showcased Demna's signature ability to merge streetwear sensibilities with high fashion craftsmanship. The designs explored the tension between tradition and innovation, featuring reimagined Gucci codes through a contemporary lens. The collection demonstrated a masterful balance of respecting the house's Italian heritage whilst injecting fresh energy and modern relevance.
