Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2027 – Here and Now

Paris Fashion Week | Off The Cuff ✂️
What if the most interesting clothes in your wardrobe are already there?
A pair of jeans.
A pleated skirt.
A tailored blazer.
A sweatshirt.
A pair of trainers.
A shirt you've worn a hundred times.
For Spring/Summer 2027, Miuccia Prada doesn't appear particularly interested in inventing an entirely new wardrobe.
Instead, she asks a much more intriguing question:
What happens when we look at the clothes we already know differently?
Welcome to Miu Miu “Here and Now.”
Presented in Paris on 4 October 2026, the collection takes the ordinary and gives it an extraordinary amount of consideration — mixing sportswear, knitwear, leather, vintage pieces and tailoring with eveningwear, embroidery and glamour.
The result is quintessentially Miu Miu.
A little awkward.
A little rebellious.
A little glamorous.
And somehow completely wearable.
The Beauty of the Everyday
Miuccia Prada has always been fascinated by ordinary clothing.
Not fashion in the abstract.
Clothes that people actually wear.
For SS27, that idea becomes the foundation of the entire collection.
Sportswear sits beside tailoring.
Vintage pieces meet contemporary construction.
Everyday denim is placed alongside cocktail dresses.
Running shoes appear beneath elegant skirts.
And a classic blazer can suddenly find itself paired with something that completely disrupts its seriousness.
The Prada Group describes the collection as a process of “heightening, elevation, improvement” — taking familiar items and reconsidering what they can become.
It sounds simple.
But simplicity is rarely simple when Miuccia Prada is involved.
Tailoring Meets Sportswear ✂️
For us at A Hand Tailored Suit, the tailoring is one of the most interesting elements of the collection.
The traditional tailored suit remains.
But it doesn't remain alone.
A blazer might be worn with a pleated skirt and running shoes.
A tailored jacket can sit over sportswear.
A more formal silhouette is interrupted by something deliberately casual.
And that tension is precisely what makes it work.
The suit is no longer automatically associated with a particular occasion.
It becomes another component in the wardrobe.
Something that can be dressed up.
Dressed down.
Mixed.
Contrasted.
Reinterpreted.
This feels particularly relevant to modern tailoring.
The contemporary customer doesn't necessarily want a wardrobe where every garment has one designated purpose.
They want pieces that can move.
A beautifully cut jacket should work with tailored trousers.
But it should also work with denim.
Or knitwear.
Or something unexpectedly casual.
Miu Miu simply takes that philosophy and pushes it considerably further.
The Art of the Clash
One of the defining characteristics of the collection is contrast.
Pretty against sporty.
Elegant against casual.
Polished against deliberately imperfect.
Traditional against contemporary.
Miuccia Prada describes these combinations as intentional, nonconformist dialogues — garments placed together to create friction and tension.
And there is plenty of friction.
A sequinned sports bra can suddenly become eveningwear.
Track trousers are elevated with tailoring.
Pleated skirts meet sneakers.
A classic shirt becomes part of something much less conventional.
It is fashion built around contradiction.
And Miu Miu has always been rather good at contradiction.
The Suit Gets a Sporty Side
The traditional tailored jacket receives a distinctly athletic makeover.
Relaxed trousers, performance-inspired layers and trainers disrupt the conventional formality of tailoring.
But importantly, the tailoring doesn't disappear.
It remains the anchor.
This is what makes the collection interesting from a bespoke perspective.
When a suit is well cut, it doesn't necessarily need to be surrounded by equally formal pieces.
It can provide structure to almost anything.
A jacket creates architecture.
A pair of trousers establishes proportion.
And then the rest of the wardrobe can play.
That is perhaps the ultimate lesson from Miu Miu SS27:
Tailoring doesn't have to be the whole outfit to define it.
Pleats, Skirts & Movement
The pleated skirt plays an important role throughout the collection.
But again, Prada refuses to treat it as a conventional feminine staple.
Pleats become something more dynamic.
They move.
They crease.
They distort.
They interact with lacing, sportswear and footwear.
The result is a silhouette that feels active rather than precious.
This is important because Miu Miu's femininity has never been about perfection.
It is about personality.
A little disorder can actually make an outfit more interesting.
Beautifully Imperfect
One of the collection's more intriguing details was the deliberate treatment of fabric.
A pink cocktail dress appeared wonderfully crumpled rather than perfectly pressed, while other pieces embraced wrinkles and signs of wear rather than attempting to eliminate them.
That is a very Miuccia Prada idea.
Why should clothing always look untouched?
Why should elegance require perfection?
Why shouldn't a beautifully made garment show evidence that it has actually been lived in?
It turns the conventional idea of luxury upside down.
Luxury doesn't necessarily have to mean pristine.
Sometimes it means knowing exactly which imperfections to keep.
Suede, Denim & The Beauty of Age
Material treatment becomes particularly important in SS27.
Suede was laminated with wax to deliberately create cracks and aged creases.
Denim was reworked.
Leather appeared alongside sportswear.
Vintage garments were reconsidered.
The collection wasn't simply inspired by old clothes.
It was interested in what happens to clothes over time.
That gives the collection a wonderfully human quality.
Because the best garments are rarely the ones that remain completely untouched.
They become better with wear.
They develop character.
They acquire memories.
And in bespoke tailoring, that relationship between cloth and wearer is particularly important.
Wrangler Meets Miu Miu 👖
Miu Miu's collaboration with Wrangler brought vintage denim directly into the collection.
Original examples of classic late-20th-century jeans were sourced and reworked, with crossed lacing becoming a signature detail.
It is a clever example of Miu Miu's wider philosophy.
Take something familiar.
Don't throw it away.
Reconsider it.
The denim remains recognisable.
But the construction changes.
The function changes.
And suddenly something ordinary feels new again.
New Balance Gets the Miu Miu Treatment 👟
The same philosophy continued through Miu Miu's ongoing collaboration with New Balance.
For SS27, the brands introduced a reconstructed version of the RC150 racing sneaker.
Technical mesh.
Contrasting laces.
A lightweight construction.
And, most unusually, laces loosely tied through external loops at the toe.
The result feels deliberately unfinished.
Almost awkward.
Which, in the world of Miu Miu, is precisely the point.
The trainer isn't trying to pretend to be elegant.
Miu Miu simply places it next to something elegant.
And suddenly the relationship changes.
Eveningwear Gets Sporty
One of the most enjoyable contradictions in the collection is the treatment of eveningwear.
Cocktail dresses aren't necessarily accompanied by delicate heels.
Instead, they can appear alongside chunky or technical sports footwear.
Sparkle meets performance.
Glamour meets practicality.
It creates an evening wardrobe that feels considerably less formal than traditional occasion dressing.
And that feels very 2026.
The modern wardrobe is increasingly built around unexpected combinations rather than complete looks.
The question isn't:
“What outfit am I supposed to wear?”
It's:
“What do I want to put together?”
Miu Miu encourages precisely that attitude.
The Return of the Ordinary
There is something refreshing about the collection's focus on everyday clothing.
Fashion can sometimes become obsessed with novelty.
New silhouettes.
New trends.
New must-have pieces.
Miu Miu's SS27 message is almost the opposite.
Look again at what you already own.
The old blazer.
The trainers.
The denim.
The pleated skirt.
The shirt.
The sweatshirt.
Perhaps they aren't boring.
Perhaps we've simply been wearing them incorrectly.
The Off The Cuff Take ✂️
For us at A Hand Tailored Suit, the most interesting part of Miu Miu SS27 is its treatment of tailoring.
Because it reminds us that a suit is not an occasion.
It is a garment.
And like any garment, it can have a personality.
The beauty of bespoke tailoring is that the suit can be designed around the individual rather than forcing the individual into a predetermined idea of what a suit should be.
The shoulder can be softer.
The jacket can be shorter.
The trouser can be fuller.
The cloth can be lightweight.
The styling can be traditional.
Or it can be completely unexpected.
Miu Miu takes that philosophy into fashion territory by putting tailoring alongside sportswear and asking neither to apologise for being there.
And perhaps that's why the collection feels so contemporary.
It doesn't tell you what to wear.
It tells you to experiment with what you already have.
From Paris to the Cutting Table
There is another lesson here for bespoke tailoring.
The best wardrobe isn't necessarily the one containing the most clothes.
It is the one containing the most useful clothes.
A beautifully cut bespoke jacket can become one of the hardest-working pieces in your wardrobe.
Wear it as part of a complete suit.
Separate it with denim.
Pair it with a fine knit.
Wear it over a polo.
Dress it down.
Dress it up.
The cut remains.
The personality changes.
That is precisely the kind of versatility Miu Miu celebrates.
Here and Now
Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2027 collection ultimately feels like a celebration of the present.
Not the fantasy wardrobe.
Not the perfect Instagram outfit.
Not clothes reserved for a special occasion.
Real clothes.
Clothes with creases.
Clothes that move.
Clothes that clash.
Clothes that get worn.
Clothes that evolve.
And that makes “Here and Now” feel like more than just a collection title.
It is an attitude.
Fashion doesn't have to wait for the perfect moment.
Wear it now.

Off The Cuff ✂️
Miu Miu has always understood that fashion doesn't have to behave itself.
For Spring/Summer 2027, Miuccia Prada simply takes the clothes we already know and gives them permission to misbehave.
The suit gets trainers.
The cocktail dress gets sportswear.
The denim gets lacing.
The skirt gets wrinkles.
And somehow, it all makes perfect sense.
A Little Off The Cuff… 😉
At A Hand Tailored Suit, we have absolutely nothing against a beautifully pressed suit.
But after watching Miu Miu SS27, we're beginning to wonder whether we should deliberately crease one.
Don't worry.
We won't.
Our pressing team would never forgive us.
