MobLand Season 2: The Premiere

MobLand Season 2: The Premiere

Paramount+'s hit show MobLand held its season 2 world premiere at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square, London, on Thursday, September 10, ahead of its release on the streaming service on September 18. In season 1, the Harrigans, a London crime family led by Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve (Helen Mirren), clash with another criminal family, the Stevenson Gang. The Harrigans employ Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), a fixer, to find a way around the conflict threatening their criminal empire. Harry's job is to protect the Harrigans' interests and prevent a gang war. The show also stars Paddy Considine as Conrad Harrigan, the Harrigans' second son; Lara Pulver as Bella Harrigan, Kevin's wife; Anson Boon as Eddie Harrigan, Kevin and Bella's son; Mandeep Dhillon as Seraphina Harrigan, Conrad's daughter and Maeve's stepdaughter; Daniel Betts as Brendan Harrigan, the Harrigans' oldest son; and Joanne Froggatt as Jan Da Souza, Harry's wife. Geoff Bell stars as Richie Stevenson, the leader of the Stevenson Gang and Toby Jones plays Colin Tattersall, a retired DCI who is trying to bring down the Harrigans. If you haven't already, catch up on season 1 before the second season drops, and in the meantime, let's take a look at some of the cast's red carpet style.

Tom Hardy

Unlike his character in the show, Harry Da Souza, who wears understated quiet luxury to give an air of authority and danger, Tom wore a bright, playful outfit for the premiere. He wore white, straight-cut tailored trousers, scuffed, slightly worn white canvas trainers, and a white short-sleeved silk shirt with a printed scene. However, as a nod to the show, the shirt's art depicted the biblical story of the Tower of Babel, a fractured and crumbling kingdom mirroring MobLand's plotlines.

Pierce Brosnan

Mob boss Conrad Harrigan, played by Pierce Brosnan, has a rural-luxury heritage aesthetic that suits the sprawling country estate he lives in. Pierce Brosnan stepped out in an outfit that felt like a red carpet twist on his character's look. He wore a well-cut navy double-breasted suit with wide pinstripes and strong shoulders, capturing an authoritative, slightly menacing mob-boss style.

Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren plays matriarch Maeve, a calculating, immoral, and steely character who uses her sharply tailored clothes and minimalistic jewellery as structural armour. Her red carpet outfit reflected her character's personality, with encrusted rhinestones across the sweeping silver gown's shoulders creating a literal armour-like effect, and architectural monochromatic earrings and a clutch tying into her character's cold, tough aura.

Joanne Froggatt

Joanne Froggatt, who plays Harry's wife Jan, donned a floor-length, black Stella McCartney gown with a plunging neckline, waist cutouts, and stiff, architectural shoulders. The flowing, silky fabric reflected her character's femininity as a domestic leader, while the structural shoulders conveyed the inner strength and presence needed to be married to a gangland fixer.

Anson Boon

Anson Boon plays Eddie, the reckless and volatile grandson of Conrad and Maeve. On the show, his character's outfits clash with his grandfather's quiet, authoritative luxury, standing out and screaming for attention. Boon took that energy to the red carpet in a Givenchy ensemble featuring a traditional-looking black double-breasted suit, paired with an informal white T-shirt, white chunky trainers, and a striking oversized wilting white flower decoration on his lapel.
