September marks the beginning of month-long fashion show extravaganzas for spring/summer 2025, starting in New York before moving to London and Milan and finally wrapping up in Paris at the start of October.
New York Fashion Week kicked off on the 6th of September and will finish on the 11th. It features a plethora of presentations from well-known designers and top luxury brands, including Ralph Lauren, Alaia, Off-White, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch, Coach, Michael Kors, and Tommy Hilfiger, among others.
So far, the New York Spring/Summer 25 season seems to be favouring comfortable and functional designs that still provide a stylish aesthetic, a colour palette of brights along with more earthy tones, throwbacks to the bubble hem and other trends of the 1980s, and sporty designs that feature feminine detailing.
Tory Burch presented her Spring/Summer 25 runway show at the Domino Sugar Factory in Brooklyn. Take a look at the complete collection below.
The Domino Sugar Factory was decked out in aqua-blue tiles that gave a feeling of being underwater, which aligned perfectly with her sport-inspired collection. The collection was more inspired by sportswear's aesthetics rather than its functionality; for example, jersey dresses had contrasting shoulder panels that brought to mind American football uniforms, and translucent shirts had vertical stripes that evoked the look of traditional football jerseys. Other stand-outs of the collection included wired waistbands on skirts that made them stick out from the body, sequinned swimsuit-like bodysuits, flowy pleated silk skirts, wrap blazers that echoed martial arts uniforms, and slouchy trousers that look like they have the comfort factor of a jogging bottom. The pieces shouted elegance with a sporty twist. Take a look at some of the pieces below.
