New York Fashion Week is back — and for Spring/Summer 2027, one of America's most recognisable fashion names has returned to one of New York's most iconic addresses.
Tommy Hilfiger is back in New York.
For his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Hilfiger transformed The Plaza Hotel into the setting for his latest runway show, bringing together the world of classic American preparation, New York energy and a distinctly modern interpretation of his signature style.
And there's a little more history behind the location than simply choosing a spectacular backdrop.
Hilfiger and his family once lived at The Plaza, making the Spring/Summer 2027 presentation something of a fashion homecoming. As the designer himself explained, the location allowed him to bring people back into his former home while presenting a collection inspired by the way New Yorkers have always taken classic pieces and made them their own.
The result?
Classic Tommy Hilfiger — but with the volume turned up.

Welcome to Plaza Prep
The collection was appropriately titled “Plaza Prep.”
And if there is one phrase that sums up Tommy Hilfiger's Spring/Summer 2027 collection, it is perhaps:
American prep — reworked for today.
The foundations are familiar.
Rugby shirts.
Oxford shirts.
Polo shirts.
Chinos.
Blazers.
Tartan.
Ivy League-inspired tailoring.
Boat shoes.
Penny loafers.
The difference is what Hilfiger does with them.
Rather than simply reproducing the classic American preppy wardrobe, the collection played with proportion, colour and fabrication, giving familiar garments an entirely different attitude.
Some polos were deliberately oversized.
Others were cropped and fitted.
Blazers became more relaxed.

A garment can look relaxed while still feeling incredibly luxurious.
And that's an idea that translates beautifully into tailoring.
A casual-looking jacket in a beautifully woven wool.
