Paris Fashion Week 2024, an event at the forefront of global fashion and the finale of the Fashion Week events took place between the 26th of February and the 5th of March in the Carrousel du Louvre. Highlights from the week included shows from fashion's most famous brands: Chanel, Givenchy, Christian Dior, Hermes, Balmain, and Chloe.
This Fashion Week's collections were intended for the autumn and winter of 2024. Although the designers stamped their own style onto the collections, there were a lot of stand-out trends, from the now ubiquitous sheer fabrics of many a past runway and award event to faux fur, denim, corsets, 80s-style oversized jackets and shoulder pads, sequins, knits, and a lot of black. Most designers mixed archival designs with futuristic silhouettes and materials, honouring their past while still innovating.
The Dior Autumn/Winter 24 ready-to-wear collection celebrated the Miss Dior brand. Take a look at the whole runway show below.
Maria Grazia Chiuri led the design team for this collection, celebrating the more affordable, more casual sub-label aimed at younger women. The Miss Dior label launched in 1967. The runway honoured archival pieces with a modern twist. The collection included suiting separates, washed denim, shoulder-padded overcoats, cropped jackets, short skirts, leather, and opulently beaded evening dresses. The colour palette mainly consisted of neutrals, with the Miss Dior logo emblazoned on many pieces in large spray paint-like lettering. Let's take a look at some of the pieces.
