This year Paris Fashion Week Men's Spring/Summer 24 took place between the 20th and 25th June 2023. The runways occurred all over Paris in unique venues, such as museums and gardens. Day four featured the Loewe menswear runway at La Garde Républicanine's equestrian arena. The show included fountains made by American artist Lynda Benglis that tied in with the collection's central theme, sparkle and elongated form. Take a look at the entire runway show below.
The collection had a muted colour scheme of pastels, khakis, blues, and blacks that contrasted with the glittering accessories. Proportions were played with, including strikingly high waists and, later, elongated tops. Let's take a look at some of the collection's pieces.
Outfit #1
The runway began with this black ensemble that, at first glance, looked relatively pedestrian. Looking closer, however, the 70s-inspired cut of the clothes became apparent, but the high-waisted moment had been taken to extremes. The tucked-in nature of the long-sleeved polo-style shirt further accentuated the incredibly high waistline. The glitter-encrusted fabric gave the look that wow factor.
Outfit #2
This look combined relaxed denim with more classic formal attire. The jeans featured the incredibly high waistline and slouch fit of all the trousers in the collection. They were paired with a beautiful, more traditional grey jacket with flap pockets and notch lapels. The matching long evening overcoat was collar and lapelless but had formal jetted pockets.
Outfit #3
The high waist of these black slouchy trousers was balanced by a spring-appropriate cropped grey knitted cardigan that had an intriguing asymmetrical neckline and front closure.
Outfit #4
In this casual outfit of jeans and a white knitted cardigan, proportions were dramatically played with to give the illusion of an exceptionally tall and slim silhouette. The jeans featured the now ubiquitous high waist, while the fluffy white cardigan reached almost to the floor and had a 'waist' belt at hip level.
Outfit #5
This look was business-casual with added glamour. Both the indigo-coloured trousers and blue and white striped shirt with its striking white collar were coated with the collection's signature glitter.
