Paris Fashion Week, March 2026: Chanel
Share
Paris Fashion Week, which ran from 2 to 10 March, wrapped up a month-long fashion extravaganza that began in New York at the start of February, followed by London and Milan Fashion Weeks. February and March fashion weeks are designers’ chance to showcase their collections for the autumn and winter of the upcoming year. This year’s top designers at Paris Fashion Week include Dior, Balmain, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, Saint Laurent, and many more well-known fashion houses.
The Chanel Autumn/Winter 2026-2027 collection took place at the Grand Palais on 9 March under the direction of Matthieu Blazy. Take a look at the full runway show below.
The theme of the collection was the Butterfly Effect, with the show exploring a caterpillar-to-butterfly metaphor that represents the transition from practical daywear (the caterpillar) to beautiful eveningwear (the butterfly). The iconic Chanel tweed suit was reinvented through sporty separates, including cardigans layered under tweed blouson jackets, ribbed zip-up jackets, and overshirts. There were plenty of 20s-inspired silhouettes, including dropped waists, flapper sheath dresses, and flouncy hemlines. Eveningwear included metal mesh garments, silk separates, and dresses adorned with floral embellishments and feathered brooches. The collection had a black base with accents of primary colours alongside iridescent rainbow tones in the metal mesh pieces. Let’s take a closer look at some of the outfits.
