Paris Fashion Week, September/October 2025: Balmain
Share
Paris Fashion Week will run from September 29th to October 7th. It is the culmination of a month-long fashion extravaganza that began in New York, before moving on to London and then Milan. September Fashion Weeks are designers' opportunities to showcase their Spring/Summer collections for the upcoming year. This year's top designers at PFW include Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Balmain, Chanel, and Hermes.
Creative director Olivier Rousteing presented the Spring/Summer 2026 collection in the ornate ballroom of the InterContinental Paris Le Grand, where he presented his first-ever collection for Balmain fourteen years ago, on October 1st. Take a look at the full runway show below.
The seaside inspired the Spring/Summer 2026 collection. There were macramé dresses, tops, and skirts, seashells decorated all types of garments, and some pieces were designed to mimic post-dip towels. The silhouette moved away from the traditional, structured garments of Balmain to more casual and slouchy shapes, with off-the-shoulder jumpers, billowing parachute trousers, and oversized blouson-like jackets. In contrast, there were also bras and bustiers modelled from sand, which was initially seen in Tyla's 2024 Met Gala dress. Predictably, for a seaside-inspired collection, the colour palette consisted mainly of sandy, natural, earthy tones. However, there were also some terracottas and reds to evoke sunsets and coastal clays, indigos to represent the depth of the sea, and whites, which were supposed to symbolise fresh, fluffy towels. There were pops of other, more vibrant colours, like peach, yellow, and deep pink, that added to the easygoing feel of the collection. Let's take a closer look at some of the pieces.
