Paris Fashion Week, September/October 2025: Hermès
Share
Paris Fashion Week ran from September 29th to October 7th, marking the culmination of a month-long fashion extravaganza that began in New York, before moving on to London and then Milan. September Fashion Weeks are designers' opportunities to showcase their Spring/Summer collections for the upcoming year. This year's top designers at PFW included Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Balmain, Chanel, and Hermes.
Nadège Vanhée presented her Spring/Summer 2026 collection for Hermès on October 4th. The collection was showcased on a sand-covered runway scattered with seashells, evoking the wild, bohemian spirit of the Camargue region in southwestern France. Take a look at the full runway show below.
The collection was a liberating take on Hermès' signature equestrian heritage, infusing the house's traditional codes with a sense of spontaneity, sensuality, and freewheeling energy that felt fresh and modern.
The Camargue: A Land of Freedom
Vanhée drew inspiration from the Camargue, a region in southwestern France known for its marshes, sand banks, and work horses used to herd bulls. But beyond its equestrian associations, the Camargue is also a land of bohemians, gypsies, and untamed freedom.
"It's also a land of bohemians, gypsies — and freedom. I wanted to bring this zest of freedom to equestrian style, which is often associated with the strict and the rational. I wanted to let go and give it a sense of spontaneity and fullness," the designer explained.
The runway setting perfectly captured this spirit—sand beneath the models' feet, seashells scattered across the floor, and an atmosphere that felt both wild and refined.
The Collection: Sporty, Flirty, and Sensual
It was a polished lineup—this is Hermès, after all—but there was a sporty, flirty edge that set it apart. The collection featured curve-hugging silhouettes, short shorts, harness and corset details, and a sexual frisson that ran throughout.
Models wore caramel-colored leather coats and minidresses with corset lacing at the back, itsy-bitsy leather shorts with apron fronts, leather harnesses, and halter tops. A strappy red leather top paired with matching trousers flashed the flesh, as did a white cotton trench left open to reveal a matching halter top and harness. Va va voom indeed.
The leather pieces were particularly stunning. Vanhée used hand-polished leather with special wax usually reserved for saddles, creating a divine cognac color with a high-shine surface. A lineup of buckle-front jackets and coats in this finish were nothing short of exquisite.
Breezy Silks and Flowing Scarves
More demure outerwear included the patchwork cotton coat with a nipped waist that opened the show, along with several ankle-sweeping styles that brought elegance to the bohemian narrative.
A lineup of breezy printed dresses and scarves made with Hermès silk captured the billowing clothes and hair of women on horseback. Vanhée layered long scarves under the harness top of a sandy cotton suit and whipped the silk into a blouse with pagoda sleeves and a matching bustier.
There was a lightness to it all—no easy feat for a leather-based brand—and a fun subversion of equestrian dress that felt both liberating and luxurious.
A Wild Ride Worth Taking
Vanhée's Spring/Summer 2026 collection proved that Hermès can be sexy, spontaneous, and free-spirited while maintaining the impeccable craftsmanship and polish the house is known for. The models who crossed that sandy runway were nothing short of hot, embodying a new kind of Hermès woman—one who embraces freedom, sensuality, and adventure.
