Paris Haute Couture Week, January 2026: Valentino

Paris Haute Couture week is an exclusive fashion event held in Paris twice a year. It showcases custom-made, hand-crafted clothes from an elite group of fashion houses. Couture pieces often require hundreds of hours of labour. This year, for the January 2026 season, Haute Couture Week was held from January 26 to 29. Jonathan Anderson presented his first collection for Dior, and Matthieu debuted his for Chanel. It also featured the first Armani Privé show since the death of Giorgio Armani and the first couture collection for Valentino since the passing of Valentino Garavani.

The Valentino Haute Couture collection, designed by Alessandro Michele, was presented on January 28. It was titled “Specula Mundi” (Mirror of the World in Latin) and was an exploration of historical romanticism, the Hollywood dream factory, and secular worship of film idols. The collection combined Michele’s maximalism with Valentino’s timeless sophistication, drawing inspiration from the 1910s and 1940s. Outerwear included velvet coats with trains, embroidered capes, and drop-waisted kimono coats. Gowns comprised white satin slip dresses, draped velvet dresses, and gold lamé goddess dresses. There was a wide-ranging colour palette, from ivory, pink, and black, to gold, silver, red, green, yellow, and purple. Take a look at the full collection in the video below.
