Princess Kate Wows at The Royal Variety Performance 2025

The Royal Variety Performance was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It has been held every year by the Royal Variety Charity since 1912 to raise funds to support people in the entertainment industry who require assistance. The charity also operates a residential care home called Brinsworth House. Hosted by comedian Jason Manford, the night's performances included Michael Ball with the cast of Les Misérables, Westlife, Jessie J, Laufey, Tom Davis, and Harry Moulding. Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure introduced the cast of the West End show Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical, and Paddington, beloved by the Royal Family for his sketch with Queen Elizabeth II for her Platinum Jubilee in 2022, also performed with the cast of the new West End show Paddington The Musical. The show will air on ITV on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the variety performance on behalf of the Royal Family. Princess Catherine looked absolutely stunning in an emerald green velvet gown by designer Talbot Runhof. The dress was figure-hugging with a flared hem and an interestingly twisted V-shaped, off-the-shoulder neckline. The princess paired the gown with sky-high Manolo Blahnik stilettos and wore her signature glossy hair in loose waves. She accessorised with dazzlingly sparkly chandelier earrings, a matching cuff, and a diamante-studded clutch.
Prince William, the Prince of Wales, accompanied his wife to the show in a traditional black tuxedo. His black trousers were slim-fitting and straight-cut, and he paired them with a classic white dress shirt and a black silk bow tie. His jacket echoed his wife's choice of attire, being made from beautiful black velvet. The contrasting satin peak lapels of the jacket matched his bow tie perfectly.
Their Royal Highnesses met Paddington Bear backstage after the show. The BBC reported that Prince William remarked that Paddington's performance was "fantastic" before joking that his marmalade sandwich "looks very nice".
