Royal Ascot 2025: Royal Style: Women

Royal Ascot is possibly the best-known racing event of the year. Taking place in Berkshire, this year's event ran from Tuesday, June 17, to Saturday, June 21. 2025 is a particularly special year, with it marking the 200th anniversary of the Royal Procession, an event where the King, Queen, and other members of the royal family arrive at the beginning of each day, driven along the racecourse in horse-drawn landaus before settling in the Royal Enclosure to watch the races. Of course, Royal Ascot is a prestigious racing event, but it is also well-known for its fashion displays. The dress code is stringent, requiring women to wear a dress or skirt that falls at or below the knee or a trouser suit, both accompanied by a hat. Butter or lemon yellow is a very popular colour this season, and many of the guests incorporated the summery hue into their ensembles. Let's take a look at some of the royal family's Ascot wardrobe!

Queen Camilla

Queen Camilla attended day four of Royal Ascot in a beautifully flowy white silk dress embroidered along the sleeves, cuffs, and hem with gold geometric patterns. She paired it with a wide-brimmed white hat trimmed with white flowers and a white quilted leather bag with gold hardware.

Zara Tindall

Princess Anne's daughter, Zara, wore a pantsuit on day four of the event. The pantsuit is a relatively recently permitted attire for women at Ascot, and the jacket and trousers must be in a matching colour. Her powder blue jacket featured notch lapels and flap pockets, and the trousers were wide-legged and straight-cut. She paired the suit with a scoop-neck satin top and a hat in the same colour featuring a statement white bow on the brim.

Princess Eugenie

On the fourth day, Princess Eugenie arrived in a latte-coloured cropped top with a matching coloured bag featuring gold hardware, an A-line white midi skirt, and a wide, white, curve-brimmed hat that completed the look.

Princess Beatrice embraced the yellow trend on day three of the festivities in a midi-length belted dress decorated with a large blue and white flower print. She accessorised with a cream clutch bag and a cream hat featuring flowers and netting.
