Share
Last Sunday, February 23rd 2025, the Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. The SAG Awards are the final award event before the most anticipated award ceremony of the season, the Oscars, which takes place on Sunday, March 2nd this year. The nominees and guests strutted the red carpet one last time before the big event. Many celebrities chose this season's trendy darker ensembles in velvet and leather, while others picked a lighter colour palette and material choice with satins and lace. Let's take a look at some of their sartorial choices.
Selena Gomez
Actress and singer Selena Gomez walked the red carpet in a gorgeous midnight blue custom satin Celine creation. The floor-length gown featured a thigh-high slit, a boned bodice, and a structured off-the-shoulder moment. She accessorised with dangly diamond earrings and sparkly rings.
Nicola Coughlan
Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan chose a pale blue custom 50s-inspired Christian Dior gown for her appearance. The dress was tea-length with a cross-over bodice, flared skirt, and cinched waist. She added opera-length black leather gloves for a touch of drama.
Anna Sawai
Anna Sawai, star of the series Shogun, donned an Armani Prive floor-length dress with a bright red crystal-embellished front and illusion neckline. The back was made of plain black, which provided an elegant contrast.
Moeka Hoshi
Actress Moeka Hoshi, who also stars in Shogun, donned a Louis Vuitton floor-length gown in shining silver. The dress featured a structured sleeveless bodice with a peplum and intricate beading, and the trained skirt was silver satin with a ruffled hemline. She wore no accessories to allow the dress to shine.
Zoe Saldana
Emilia Perez actress Zoe Saldana donned a Saint Laurent black column gown for her appearance on the red carpet. The dress gave 80s vibes with one long sleeve and an enormous structured ruffle above it fully covered in diamantes. She wore her hair slicked back and added chandelier earrings that complemented the embellishments on her shoulder.
