The Best of Joel Dommett's Looks From The Masked Singer - A Hand Tailored Suit

The Best of Joel Dommett's Looks From The Masked Singer

Another series has come and gone of the hit ITV evening show, The Masked Singer, where celebrities are hiding behind their masks in order for the celebrity panel to guess correctly who is indeed, the masked singer. Hosting the popular programme is presenter, comedian and actor Joel Dommett who in his own way, steals the show with his own statement style and across seasons 1 and 2, has delivered with some sartorially sharp pieces. Here are just a few of his best looks from the show.

Let's go back all the way to the very first episode when it aired on 4th January 2020 and to his very first presenting attire of the show. He kept it very smart and crisp with a two-piece navy blue suit, styled with a lighter blue shirt and patterned navy blue tie that sat underneath the curved shirt collar. The shirt colour was perfect to draw out the subtle design on the tie and pocket square neatly folded in the jacket welt pocket and matching the sharp points of his notch lapels. Two buttons featured on the front with just one used to close the jacket and to finish, four matching fabric buttons on the cuffs. It was to be the first of many dapper attires for Joel Dommett.

The dinner jacket and tuxedo style has been the more popular style of choice for the presenter, but this double-breasted number in season 1 just shows he really can work a suit. This teal piece featured an eight-button front with standard peak lapels and flapped pockets sitting flat against the body. His welt pocket was accessorised with a white pocket square, showing hints of blue in the pattern to link nicely to his polka dot tie. The cuffs were finished with one button on each and the shirt cuffs were exposed to minimise the monochrome effect of the suit. The trousers were cut with a sharp crease down the centre and finished just above his smart shoes.

From episode 3 of the first season is where his signature dinner jacket style came into play and from then on, has been implemented into many different looks including this one. The impact of a sharp black dinner suit was softened through its nature theme, many pink cherry blossoms and butterflies printed on the jacket and the pink shirt matching to really enhance its wow factor. The shawl collar and the dinner jacket style overall was a great silhouette choice to mirror the floral essence, whilst the sharpness is maintained through the trouser cut and silver tie clip on his black tie.

The finale of season 1 aired on 15th February 2020 and for the occasion, Mr. Joel Dommett sported a jacquard black three-piece suit. The look elevated the classic black tie dress code as the texture of the fabric really came to life on the shawl collar, finishing just low enough to see the top of his lapel waistcoat showing underneath. The cuffs were finished in a four-button arrangement, allowing the double cuffs of his crisp white shirt to stand out and link nicely to his white pocket square in the welt pocket. For the perfect finishing touch, his large black bow tie completed the ensemble and the polished shoes (just brushing the trousers hems) were shiny, thus bringing the first season of The Masked Singer to a close.

Season 2 of The Masked Singer was back on our screens on Boxing Day 2020, which meant more celebrity guesses from the panel, more surprise reveals and more sartorial looks from Joel Dommett. We've already covered a few of his season 2 looks here on our blog, but this gold number was such a cool ensemble too. It was a black dinner jacket printed with an artistic gold print for a rich finish. Wide contrasting peak lapels heightened the black background of the jacket whilst the slim black trousers and black tie ensured the gold was a statement of the ensemble.

Episode 7 of season 2 was the show where for his outfit of choice, Dommett sported a rather crisp white dinner jacket with a contrasting black shawl lapel. Like the previous jacket, black trousers, a smart black shirt and black accessories helped to enhance the contrasting jacket design to be a stand-out piece. Flapped pockets sit just below the one button fastening with the black pocket square slightly on show to define the welt pocket on the chest.

The eight-button double-breasted style came back in season 2 for the finale through this jacquard printed ensemble and how smart it was too. With a velvet gauntlet cuff and four buttons on each, the jacket had a sharp straight hem and peak lapels almost blending into the collar. A double cuff shirt was the preference and with the cuffs showing through the jacket sleeves once more, a classic shirt collar could be seen underneath the presenter's bow tie. With a double vent and crisp centre creases on the trouser front once more, it was a very sharp finale ensemble for the host - and his sharp looks continued into season 3 as you can see below!
