The Day of the Jackal Premiere: Cast Style
Share
Everyone is talking about the new adaptation of Fredrick Forsyth's 1971 novel The Day of the Jackal. Available in the UK on Sky Atlantic, it hit screens on the 7th of November, with the first five episodes being available immediately and the last five being aired weekly on Thursdays. If you haven't checked it out, now is an excellent time to catch up with the ninth episode airing this week on the 5th of December and the tenth and final episode airing the following week on the 12th. Watch the trailer below.
It is split into ten hour-long parts and features a stellar cast, including Eddie Redmayne as the titular character and Lashana Lynch as his pursuer, Bianca Pullman.
The UK premiere event took place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London's Southbank Centre on the 22nd of October. Let's take a look at the cast's red carpet style.
Eddie Redmayne
Eddie Redmayne plays the Jackal in the new adaptation. He looked as sharp as his murderous character on the red carpet in tones of grey and beige. He donned a double-breasted light grey suit and wide-legged trousers to balance his tall and slim frame. The jacket had natural shoulders, wide, short, notch lapels, and straight jetted pockets. He paired it with a silky-looking greige spread collar shirt and a matching coloured tie. He completed the ensemble with patent square-toed dress shoes.
Ursula Corbero
Spanish actress Ursula Corbero plays the Jackal's unsuspecting wife. She arrived at the premiere looking flawless in a sheer nude sleeveless column dress decorated with an unusual fluffy black faux fur pattern, including pannier-like detailing at the hips. She added pops of colour with a vivid red lip and unique burgundy slant-heeled shoes.
Lashana Lynch
Lashana Lynch, who plays the determined MI6 agent Bianca Pullman, tracking the Jackal throughout the series, looked blooming in a navy blue 80s-style pouffy skirted ballgown—the sleeveless and ruched bodice moulded to her body, showing off her prominent baby bump. She kept her accessories minimal, choosing some discreet diamond earrings and nothing else.
Charles Dance
British acting treasure Charles Dance plays Timothy Winthrop, one of Jackal's rich and powerful clients in the show. He walked the red carpet in a navy blue single-breasted, slim-fitting suit with notch lapels, natural shoulders, jetted pockets, and straight-cut trousers. He added a bit of pizzazz to his plain white shirt with a busily patterned multicoloured striped scarf.
Richard Dormer
Northern Irish actor Richard Dormer plays the elusive and shadowy gunmaker Norman. At the premiere, he chose a classic black single-breasted suit with slim, notch lapels, slanted jetted pockets, and straight-cut trousers that he paired with a matching black shirt, no tie, and patent dress shoes. He unbuttoned the collar of his shirt to give the formal look a more laid-back air.
