On 2 December, London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall hosted The Fashion Awards 2019. Since 1989, The Fashion Awards are an annual ceremony celebrating and showcasing British and international contributions and those who have most impacted the fashion industry that year. This year, each winner was presented with a trophy designed by Ross Lovegrove, a Welsh artist, embellished with Swarovski crystals. Let’s explore the best-dressed men of the night.
Daniel Lee
Bradford-born Daniel Lee is the current Creative Director at Bottega Veneta. When he took over in June 2018 from 17-year-serving Thomas Maier, Daniel Lee had no internet presence and few fashion editors knew his name. He worked quietly behind the scenes as a virtual unknown. Within 18 months, he has steered the luxury fashion house to success via cult products. At the Fashion Awards 2019, he won not one but four awards: Accessories Designer of the Year, Womenswear Designer of the Year, Brand of the Year, and Designer of the Year. Not a bad start!
He wore an English cut, single-breasted notched lapelled suit in black with a simple black turtleneck underneath. He finished the look with black leather shoes.
Andrew Scott
Everyone’s favourite ‘Hot Priest’ from Fleabag and Sherlock’s nemesis in Sherlock, Andrew Scott wore a single-breasted high-waisted black suit with leather accented notched lapels with a simple t-shirt underneath.
Rafferty Law
The son of Jude Law and Sadie Frost is the spitting image of his father. He is rumoured to be dating Rita Ora and is following in his actor father’s footsteps. He wore a black turtleneck underneath his wool double-breasted coat. He wore grey trousers, a gold chain, and finished the look off with white loafers.
Jack Guinness
Founder and director of The Queer Bible, writer, model, and presenter, Jack Guinness never fails to impress on the style front. He wore a classic black tuxedo with silk contrasting pointed lapels, a classic white button-down with French cuffs, and a bow tie that seems simultaneously big and just the right size!
Sam Claflin
British Me Before You actor, Sam Claflin, wears a double-breasted velvet suit with contrasting lapels. He opted for a plain black tie and white button-up.
Ed Westwick
Former Gossip Girl star, Ed Westwick wore a smart three-piece navy single-breasted suit with a camel-coloured turtleneck. He opted for black shoes and a burgundy pocket square.
Oliver Cheshire
English fashion model and Founder and Creative Director of CHÉ STUDIOS and partner of Pixie Lott wore a double-breasted contrasting shawl lapel tuxedo with a large black bow tie and a white button-up shirt. He accessorized with a clutch.
