The Gentlemen At Wimbledon 2021: Best Dressed (Days 1-4)

After a year away from the famous green tennis courts, like many sporting events, the Wimbledon Championships are back. Over the course of two weeks from the tournament's starting date (Monday 28th June 2021), we shall see the likes of Andy Murray, Dan Evans, Venus and Serena Williams take to the courts as they all play to win the Championships. Spectators up to a 50% capacity have been allowed to attend the event as part of the government's test pilot events, with this number rising throughout until a full crowd is allowed for the finals. As we enter day four of Wimbledon 2021, we've spotted a few famous faces in attendance and dressed for the occasion too of course. Here are our top 5 best dressed gentlemen at Wimbledon 2021 so far.

When: Day One at Wimbledon (28th June 2021)

Actor Paapa Essiedu was spotted in the Evian VIP suite at Wimbledon wearing a smart two-piece dark navy suit with a white shirt underneath. The jacket included a standard notch lapel and two buttons on the front which he wore both fastened. Thin flapped pockets sit almost in line with the lower buttonhole on the front with a welt pocket also included on the chest. His trousers are a tailored fit with the centre crease made subtle and front pockets included, whilst the trouser hem just brushes the top of his shoes. With a rounded hem on the jacket centre front, the actor's shirt features a short pointed collar and a covered button placket, creating a subtle suiting ensemble for Wimbledon.

When: Day One at Wimbledon (28th June 2021)

Designer Yinka Ilori was also seen in the Evian VIP suite at Wimbledon as he was commissioned to design the suite himself for this year's championships. On the opening day, Ilori sported a two-piece black suit with a wide pinstripe weave in a double-breasted cut. The jacket included sharp peak lapels and soft padded shoulders as the lapels fall to the four-button front on the garment. His breast pocket features a small triangular flap whilst the jacket sleeves are designed with three buttons on the cuffs. The trousers are a straight cut with a centre crease falling down to the hem, slightly bunched up and sitting on top of his shoes whilst the suit is made casual with a black crew neck shirt underneath. He is also pictured with basketball player Ovie Soko, who also wears a double-breasted dinner jacket with black peak lapels and a six-button front, worn with black satin striped trousers and a navy blue printed cravat.

When: Day Two at Wimbledon (29th June 2021)

Actor Kingsley Ben-Adir looked very sartorial in his smart/casual attire consisting of a navy double-breasted jacket paired with cream slim-fit trousers. The attire is quite fitting for Wimbledon, particularly the blue striped button-down collar shirt with the cuffs also exposed thanks to the slightly shorter jacket sleeve length. The jacket itself includes wide peak lapels with a sharp point, as well as standard flapped pockets and the welt pocket styled with a white pocket square. It is a six-button front, all in a gold finish and left unfastened to show the shirt and navy and gold striped tie with printed emblems. His trousers are fitted to the ankles as they just brush the top of his black buckled shoes, making for a very ace outfit.

When: Day Four at Wimbledon (1st July 2021)

Author and lyricist Tim Rice has been spotted in the crowds at day four with his daughter wearing a duck egg blue two-piece suit with a light-coloured shirt and matching satin tie. The jacket has soft shoulders, along with wide notch lapels with a buttonhole included on the left lapel. On his jacket sleeves are four buttons to match the shirt and create an summer suiting ensemble, perfect for smart and casual wear. As well as a centre crease down the front of the trousers and a welt pocket sitting behind the notch lapel on his left with pockets also near the bottom, it's an overall subtle suiting ensemble for watching the championships.

When: Day Four at Wimbledon (1st July 2021)

Singer, presenter and radio host Marvin Humes is serving a great example of smart/casual attire attending day four of Wimbledon, wearing a pair of dark navy trousers and a polo shirt with a buttoned centre front. The polo shirt itself is designed with a symmetrical striped arrangement either side of the centre front in navy and grey, giving the illusion the navy stripes are acting as suspenders for the chinos. The collar is a wide placement yet subtle on the shirt, whilst his trousers are a tailored fit with a sharp centre crease defining the hem's placement on his ankles to ensure his brown loafers are completely on show. His matching jacket is folded over his arm, but is a look that would be great with or without the outer garment for day four.
