The Gentlemen Series Premiere: Cast and VIP Style - A Hand Tailored Suit

The Gentlemen Series Premiere: Cast and VIP Style

This month, on Netflix, an exciting new series by Guy Ritchie premiered. It's a series that extends the world of his 2020 film The Gentlemen onto television. Although the series has the same name, it features brand new characters and plot lines, but it also has the same Guy Ritchie-esque gangster charm many of us know and love from the movie. Take a look at the trailer below (Warning: very strong language).

On the 5th of March, the series' global premiere event took place at the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane in London. The star-studded cast of the show and equally famous guests, including David Beckham and Jason Statham, strutted the red carpet in their best attire. Let's have a look at some of the cast, their famous fans, and their outfits for the evening.

Theo James

Star of The White Lotus, Theo James, plays Eddie Horniman, the unexpected heir of his father's estate and newly minted 10th Duke of Halstead. He unwillingly becomes embroiled in some shady dealings. On the red carpet, Theo donned slim-fitting, straight-cut midnight blue trousers and a matching knee-length double-breasted jacket with peak lapels. He finished the look with a coordinating classic collar dark blue shirt, silk tie, and black-framed glasses.

Kaya Scodelario

Kaya Scodelario is a British actress known for films such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge and TV shows, including The Pale Horse. In The Gentlemen, she plays Susie Glass, the head of Bobby Glass' (Ray Winstone) criminal empire while he's in prison. Kaya looked stunning at the premiere in a boned black bodysuit with glittering gold seashell cups and a sheer floor-length skirt with a trailing train. She wore her long dark hair in a half-updo and accessorised with snake-shaped hoop earrings.

Daniel Ings

Daniel Ings, of Lovesick fame, plays Eddie's disinherited, feckless, cocaine-addicted older brother, Freddy Horniman, who causes many problems and adventures during the show. Daniel looked very different from his dishevelled and chaotic character on the red carpet in a gorgeous grey and white checked single-breasted suit. The jacket featured structured padded shoulders, broad, peak lapels, flap pockets, and a ticket pocket for extra interest and oomph. He paired it with a traditional white dress shirt and a wide black tie.

Joely Richardson

Lady Chatterley's Lover actress Joely Richardson plays Lady Sabrina, the Dowager Duchess of Halstead and Eddie and Freddy's mother. Throughout the series, her mission is to keep the family away from criminal activity and scandal. Joely looked beautiful and slightly edgy at the premiere in a black velvet mini-dress trimmed with fluttering feathers at the skirt hem and sleeve cuffs. She wore it with thigh-high boots, showing a peek of the fishnet tights she had donned.

Ray Winstone

English superstar Ray Winstone plays the incarcerated Bobby Glass, Susie's father and head of the criminal empire operating on the Halstead grounds. On the red carpet, Ray looked smart in a light grey three-piece suit with notch lapels and patch pockets, giving the formal look a more relaxed feel. He paired it with a light blue shirt with a contrasting white collar and a polka-dotted midnight blue tie that matched his pocket square.

Guy Ritchie

Guy Ritchie is The Gentlemen's creator, co-writer, executive producer, and director of two episodes. At the premiere, Guy chose a more laid-back look with a mismatched but complementary pair of beige trousers and a navy blue double-breasted jacket. He paired them with a white shirt and a more informal square-ended knitted tie in blue with white stripes. He completed the ensemble with a white pocket square and tan leather shoes.

Jason Statham

English actor and star of many of Guy Ritchie's films, including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking BarrelsSnatchWrath of Man, and

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, Jason Statham came to the premiere of The Gentlemen to support his friend and co-worker. He wouldn't have looked out of place as one of the cast in a dapper black single-breasted jacket with flap pockets and broad, peak lapels, matching straight-cut slim-fitting black trousers, and a midnight blue shirt left unbuttoned and without a tie.

David Beckham

Ex-footballer, general superstar, and fashionista David Beckham also made an appearance at the premiere to support the cast and crew of The Gentlemen. David looked gorgeous in a traditional navy blue double-breasted suit with flap pockets, notch lapels, padded shoulders, and slim-fitting, straight-cut trousers to balance the more boxy jacket. He completed the look with a light blue and white striped spread collar shirt, a sapphire blue silk tie, and a matching-coloured pocket square.
