The Golden Globes 2023: Best Dressed Men - A Hand Tailored Suit

The Golden Globes 2023: Best Dressed Men

The 80th annual Golden Globe Awards took place on the 10th of January 2023. It was held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California to honour the best in film and American television of 2022. Jerrod Carmichael hosted the ceremony. The winners included Austin Butler, Cate Blanchett, Colin Farrell, Kevin Costner, Zendaya, and Amanda Seyfried. The celebrities swarmed the red carpet showing off their stunning outfits. Here are a few of the men's looks that caught our eye.

Austin Butler

Austin Butler won the Award for Actor in a Drama Motion Picture for Elvis. He arrived on the red carpet dressed to impress in a classic black double-breasted tuxedo with wide peak lapels in a contrasting black satin that matched the satin-covered buttons and floppy bow tie. The boxy cut of the jacket, wide lapels and padded shoulders were balanced with slim-fitting trousers to elongate his figure. The look was finished with a traditional white shirt with a cutaway collar and pointed low-heeled boots.

Taron Egerton

Nominee for Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture for TV for Black Bird, Taron Egerton, also chose a classic tuxedo, this time in a stunning midnight-blue shade. The double-breasted jacket featured peak lapels in contrasting satin and jetted pockets for that extra formal feel. Egerton picked a looser fit of trousers but avoided looking too wide with thinner lapels that finished lower on the jacket to draw the eye downwards and lengthen his silhouette.

Adam Scott

Adam Scott was nominated in the category of Actor in a Drama TV Series for Severance. Blue was a big trend with men on the red carpet. Adam Scott chose a single-breasted Paul Smith suit in a teal hue with peak lapels in a harmonising shade. He paired it with a pointed classic collar white shirt and played with proportions, donning a wide black cummerbund and a mismatching skinny bow tie.

Seth Rogen

Nominated for Supporting Actor in a Limited Series/Anthology or Motion Picture Made for TV for Pam and Tommy, Seth Rogen bucked the blue trend in monochromatic pink. His light-pink, pleated dress shirt was tucked into a cummerbund of a slightly darker shade that matched the rest of his suit, including his bow tie. Rogen went for a more informal style jacket with notch lapels, flap pockets, and a two-button closure.

Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield, nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for Under the Banner of Heaven, also broke the blue trend in a burnt-orange suit. The slim-fitting single-breasted suit had shawl lapels and a one-button closure that accentuated Garfield's long frame. He combined the bright suit with a black shirt and tie, both left slightly undone for a relaxed feel to the look.
