After another summer away, The Graham Norton Show made its much-anticipated return to BBC One on Friday 25 September, opening Series 34 with another typically eclectic collection of guests joining Graham Norton on his famous red sofa.
For the opening episode of the new series, Graham welcomed Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, Oscar-nominated actress Florence Pugh, comedian and actor Lolly Adefope, and comedian John Bishop, with singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé providing the evening's musical entertainment.
As always, there was plenty of celebrity conversation, comedy and a few interesting fashion moments along the way. Let's take a look at some of the outfits from this week's show.
Graham Norton
Graham returned to the sofa with his familiar blend of tailoring and statement styling, proving once again that the host isn't afraid to experiment with colour, pattern and accessories.
Rather than opting for completely traditional evening tailoring, Graham's look brought together classic suiting with one of his trademark touches – an eye-catching shirt and tie combination.

Tom Cruise
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise joined Graham to discuss his new apocalyptic satire Digger, including the extraordinary transformation required for his character.
Cruise spoke about the prosthetic make-up involved in creating the character, revealing that the process had originally taken around six hours before being reduced considerably. He also discussed his long-standing passion for cinema and his desire to continue challenging himself creatively.
From a tailoring perspective, Cruise once again demonstrated why classic menswear continues to work so well on the red carpet and television sofa.
His approach to formal dressing is generally centred around clean lines, sharp proportions and understated elegance – a reminder that a perfectly fitted suit rarely needs to shout to make an impression.
Florence Pugh
Florence Pugh joined Graham to discuss her role in the new Netflix adaptation of John Steinbeck's East of Eden.
The Oscar-nominated actress plays a character whose story unfolds across several decades, with Pugh discussing the challenge and enjoyment of portraying her character as she ages throughout the seven-episode series.
Florence has also developed a reputation for experimenting with fashion, often combining classic silhouettes with more contemporary styling.
Her appearance on The Graham Norton Show provided another opportunity to showcase that ability to balance glamour with a distinctly modern approach to dressing.
Lolly Adefope
Comedian and actor Lolly Adefope brought a different energy to the sofa, discussing her first major stage role in the critically acclaimed comedy Oh, Mary!, in which she plays Mary Todd Lincoln.
Adefope described the production as a physical and energetic experience, as well as something of a departure from her previous work.
Her appearance also highlighted the wonderfully unpredictable mix of personalities that Graham manages to bring together on the same sofa – something that has remained central to the show's appeal since it first launched.
John Bishop
Comedian John Bishop completed the guest line-up, chatting about his new BBC entertainment quiz show Wisdom of the Crowd.
Bishop explained that although he had never expected to host a game show, the opportunity appealed to his love of making people laugh.
With his trademark humour and storytelling style, Bishop was a natural addition to the sofa and helped provide the balance of comedy that has become synonymous with the programme.
Emeli Sandé
Providing the music for the opening episode was Emeli Sandé, who performed her much-loved track Read All About It, Pt. III before joining Graham for a chat.
Sandé is also embarking on a UK tour celebrating 15 years since the release of her multi-platinum debut album Our Version of Events – an album that helped establish her as one of Britain's most recognisable singer-songwriters.
Her performance provided a suitably nostalgic musical moment to round off the opening show.
The Sofa Is Back
With Series 34 now underway, The Graham Norton Show once again brings together the familiar ingredients that have made it such a Friday-night favourite – Hollywood stars, British comedy, music, unexpected stories and, of course, Graham's famous red sofa.
